Looking back, the best fillers came in season 3 and 4 IIRC. After school special, In the Beginning, It's a terrible life, the Halloween one, Groundhog Day ep and A Very Supernatural Christmas all came from this period.

Was I the only one who thought Benny was a Leviathan, rather than a vamp? (lol).

Now the purgatory alliance seems much more believable.

Enjoyed the ep - especially that tense handshake moment - only thing I struggled with was how easily Dean put away those four vamps without getting a scratch on him, while on the phone with Sam half the time.

I think it just showed how skilled Dean has become since being in purgatory and having to fight all the time it has now become second nature to him, that's why it was so easy for him.

Added to that when Sorrento took on Benny and said where did you learn to fight like that and he said I've had some practice. Clearly both their fighting skills went up a notch or two while in pergatory.

Nope I was thinking it as well.

Understand that their time in Purgatory would've lead to improved 'slaying' skills; just think that the fact he didn't register a scratch against four vampires made him seem a bit overpowered (he is still human after all).

Was my only minor qualm with the episode anyway. Enjoyed it apart from that little thought.

I thought it was revealed in the first episode he was a vampire?

EDIT: Just went back through the first episode and you can see he tests out his fangs when he gets back into his body.

Ah yes, that's right. I guess I just figured he was a restrained Levi who wasn't showing us his full capabilities at the time.

That last 5-8 minutes of the episode reminded me of the end in "Sex and Violence" from season 4. Lots of similiarities with the way it ended, the winchesters getting things off their chest, Sam and Dean beating the crap out of each other and Garth playing Bobby's role by stopping Dean from killing Sam. Did lol @ Dean line "Hey Chuck Norris"

Hoping for some more Garth in this season :D

"Don't you think we should say something?"

Dean- "Sure. We won." Loved the delivery :D

Supernatural has without a doubt the most consistently banging librarians. Garth, Soundgarden, Dean belting Sam one, thought it was a pretty decent "filler" ep and the spectre plot was a good way to resolve the emotional brooding between the two (well, until Sam kills Benny of course).

Hope we get more Crowley soon and I'm ****ing dying to know what happens to Cas in Purgatory.

I realised straight away the actress who played the wife in that ep was also in 'croatoan' in season 2.

Amelia is already annoying as heck. Surely Sam could do better than that 5/10.
