Not a fan of that ep at all. Season 5 was so amazing there could be a big drop off here. I really hope not because i love this show but i think they should have stopped after season 5. It was a perfect ending.

Didn't like any of the other hunters, and i really don't like the idea of a group of hunters. This shows about sam and dean (and bobby and cas). Not assistant director skinner and their cousins. Hopefully they die soon. Either way that episode left me feeling not overly enthusiastic about the chances of the new writers coming close to the brilliance of season 5.

Still so many questions to be answered. Like what happens to the four horseman with lucifer gone (because of what death was saying to dean about being freed one day ... reaping god etc.)

Also random question does anyone know what the song is in deaths intro scene back in season 5 ep 21?
Love it.

I think the "...one day I'll even reap God," stuff was just part of the back story, perhaps the view of a writer/producer, and is something that won't be revisited specifically. I do hope however, that the four horsemen/lucifer arch is revisitied in some form.

And we're back!!

Alpha's.
Samuel's phone call.

Just need Cas back next week :)

EDIT: Looks like we'll get him :)

Prediction: I think these alpha's are trying to 'cross-breed' with humans. In the Season 6 preview vid that was posted earlier in the thread, there's a line that says "...nocturnals (are) attacking in broad daylight, werewolves (are) coming out at halfmoons...' Sounds like supernatural beings are to trying to become more powerful by taking on human qualities, in order to somehow avenge/resurrect Satan...?

I actually think that the Alphas are the weapons that Castiel was talking about. Now that they've escaped heaven they're having an effect on how the 'normal' supernatural beings live and I think that they're trying to find a way to stay on Earth. As for Samuel's phonecall, I've read a few interesting thoughts on who he could be talking to; an angel, Crowley, Death. I just hope its not some lame government thing

Well I guess same about the show but i think the vampire diaries is another great show based on the theme. It also have a supernatural kind of stuff in the show.

Enjoyed that ep greatly. No coincidence that this week's episode revolved around Sam, Dean and Castiel as opposed to that other group. Guess I was wrong about the Alphas being the weapons stolen from Heaven. Its also an interesting plot turn of the civil war in heaven, which is logical seeing that Gabriel, Michael and Lucifer are gone. It'll also be interesting to find out why Sam has changed so much too.

Preview for next weeks ep.

"I think we can rule Moses out as a suspect"

Great to have you back Cas :thumbsu:

Also, great to see this series kick into gear; Raphael, apocalyptic weapons, civil war in heaven, etc.

Sounds like souls are going to play a massive part in this one.

Just going to throw another theory out there; who else thinks that Sam isn't in possession of his soul?

Spoiler alert...

One theory I've read regarding souls is that since Angels need permission to take over a vessel, perhaps owning the soul removes that requirement? Also, maybe the angels want to fight down on earth so that they don't destroy anything upstairs, hence the requirement for human vessels.

Well after that great episode last week, we once again had another filler episode. Sure there were some pretty good parts but the story didn't really advance apart from a conversation between Bobby and Rufus.
On an unrelated note this episode was directed by Jensen Ackles pretty sure it's his first time directing as well.
