Love love love this show! Been my favourite tv show since it started. Lost it's way for a couple of seasons but back on track this season. I love love love Jensen Ackles, brilliant actor and super freakin hot! One of top 5 highlights of my life was meeting him and getting a pic taken with him, AHBL con anyone?

The filler episodes haven't been of that great a standard recently. Still obviously very watchable. Just not as good as fillers from seasons gone by.
God this weeks episode was bad! can't see the spin off series doing well at all! Good news is next weeks episode looks like it will be AWESOME!

Really awful 80's drama music, silly stereotypes as the main guys, they lack a bond that the two leads of supernatural seemed to naturally have
Also storyline borrowed heavily from well worn plots, (romeo and juliet, revenge) and those high cheekbones everyone seemed to have were too god damn high

My predictions going into the finale were (I'll spoiler as it was kinda in the right direction)
Dean was obviously getting worse with the first blade and it had to be addressed. With Metatron going down the "I'm the new god" path I kinda expected the original god to make an appearance (I still think they will eventually) and perhaps finish him off after the Winchesters has already defeated him.
I thought that maybe Dean would die in the process, but would be resurrected by god by making him an Angel (maybe Archangel).
Archangel Dean would have been cool.....Knight of Hell Dean is also freakin cool!

It isn't at this stage. It is still renewed on a season by season basis. I think it is an example of why you should sometimes stick with a show that might be going through a lull.
It dropped off a little bit for a couple of seasons and you could have said that it had run its course and was out of stories. I loved S9 (I'll admit getting a little worried when Oz came into it - but those quirky side eps are actually part of what makes it a great show IMO.) and am now eagerly awaiting S10. The situation now opens up many possibilities.
