Yep. Really really enjoyed that.

Completely agree Ryz That's probably a top 10 episode in my books. Might have to go through the entire series episode list and rank my top 10 to see exactly where it fits! :D

Don't mind at all that they went and used the Chuck=God theory (maybe it was their plan all along?)

Maybe I was a tiiiiny bit annoyed at the "I turned it off" explanation for the amulet. Chuck pls.

Beautiful song at the end too

Acting and writing wise, the scenes with Metatron and God were so absorbing.....hope there's more and I'm assuming they'll both be featured heavily in next season.

Also like how they've redeemed Metatrons character, developed pretty well over the last few seasons. Curtis Armstrong really sold that devotion he has to God, likewise Sam and Dean with the "oh f*** he's here" looks on their faces.

Show got a boost in the arm to keep it going strong until it finishes.

Agree RE song :thumbsu: and amulet

Wondering if this will still come to pass......

As good as any Ep imho. Loved it (still not my favourite though, can't see anything topping the French mistake). The way they did God was good, having him look like chuck except for occasionally showing his true form. Loved all the music, loved metatron being redeemed, loved the jokes. Just a great Ep all round. Supernatural does some barely okay filler amongst mostly good filler, but I'll keep watching just for these brilliant episodes when they pop up.

Argh, that final 10 minutes was a bit nauseating, wasn't it? #copoutending:(

I like Ackles and Padalecki as actors, but I've found over the last few seasons, whenever doom is at it's peak (Apocalypse, Leviathans, Metatron, Demon Dean, The Darkness), it's become difficult to believe the guys when they're putting on the distressed/'end of the world' face - particularly Sam:

The clenched jaw, the furrowed brow, the quivering adam's apple... my biggest qualm with the show is the fact that I now struggle to feel invested in the brothers when those devastating moments hit them. As fans, we've come to expect that there's always some bigger supernatural trump card waiting in the wings to swoop in a save them. I get that story arcs can't be completely tied up for TV reasons, but I think the clear play here was Dean soul-nuking a weakened God and Amara. Then next season could have been set up as another redemption season for Sam... maybe trying to find Death or Michael - the only supernatural players left in the game who would have enough juice to bring Dean back. That's what I would've done anyway :) That's why I loved Season 5 so much - apart from some celestial assistance from Cas, it was the boys who ultimately saved/sacrificed themselves to solve the end of the world problem.

The only enemy now is if Michael somehow breaks free from the cage and wants to get revenge on the boys. Or if Death comes back.

I guess Mrs Winchester & this other Men of Letters UK Chapter holds some interest, but I'm not sure where the story goes from here now to reach the highs of this season or S5.

Oh, can Rowena please **** off?

Oh please be him.

Please be John.

Was like that anticipation of the Gjallahorn hoping to drop :(, where's Rich when you need him? :p

Thoughts on the finale:

Last few eps were average and convienently wrapped up again, Lucifer getting free the way he did and the British Men of Letters laying down the way the did was again, really lazy writing.

Looks like Lucifer Jnr/Jack was taking the piss with everyone and he's an evil prick judging by the shit eating grin.

Season as a whole was meh, had some really good episodes, but they've milked it so much 22/23 episode seasons aren't sustainable anymore.

Hopefully next season is split into two arcs where Lucifer Jnr is dusted and things are wrapped up in the second half.

One of my favourite shows ever, just hope it gets the strong finish it deserves.

I think one of the problems is that it keeps getting renewed, so they have to keep story archs open while providing some sort of closure.

It's a tricky balance to maintain.

While we would have missed out on some great archs, I think the Season 5 finale would have been the best ending to the show.

Well I just watched season 12 over 2 weeks and I quite enjoyed it

That finale though...well that was batshit crazy!

On the length of the season, they could easily cut it to 13.
