Re: Supplementary Draft/Nominations (Pick 22: Richmond)

IMO you should be able to select a supp player each week without nominating them, and if they arent named then you get your nominated rookie and if he doesnt play then bad luck.

Bit hard to names supp players for each round before the season starts. Should be an option to atleast have a chance of choosing one player from your supp/rookie list at the start of each round.

Its up to Russion though as he's the league admin afterall.

Re: Supplementary Draft/Nominations (Pick 22: Richmond)

Richmond - skipped
Geelong - skipped
Vultures - Jack Hutchins (Gold Coast)
Melbourne - pass
Albury - Matthew Panos (Western Bulldogs ®)

WC now has 12 hours

We will do 3:00-2:00-1:00s from 12-7 tomorrow

Re: Supplementary Draft/Nominations (Pick 27: West Coast)

I'm not changing the rules on supps, but you can have until next weekend to work it out. Just nominate as many players as you need this week in this week's thread.

Re: Supplementary Draft/Nominations (Pick 27: West Coast)

Mozzies take Tom Schneider

Adelaide has until 2pm

We will get through all of round 2 by tonight's cutoff, but it's unlikely we'll get too far into round 3. Remember if you want more than 2 players, send me a preference list before 7pm. I will process them and post the results ASAP after that time.

Re: Supplementary Draft/Nominations (Pick 8: Melbourne)

Can not work out this rule. Can i nominated my rookies instead?
I'll do mine tonight which will hopefully help everyone else understand. In short and to get you through this week, yes you can pick rookies.

Sydney skipped
Gold Coast take Joseph Daye
Wagga skipped and autoed Jamie O'Reilly for pick 17

Rottnest has 2 hours from now

Re: Supplementary Draft/Nominations (Pick 29: Adelaide)

Rottnest skipped
Bears autoskipped
Port take Jye Bolton

All round 3 picks can be taken now. First in best dressed. If the timestamp on your post starts with 19 for someone in Melbourne, it's too late.

R15 - Dea, Bolton
R16 - Dea, Bolton, Archer, Crawford, Thompson, Slattery, Smith*
R17 - BYE

*rookie replacement

Above is the sort of thing I'm looking for.

The process I went through:
I have 5 supps and 6 rookies. Of all of them, I think Dea's most likely to get a game, so I've used him every week I can (i.e. every week that Richmond don't have the bye). From the supps I've picked, there's nobody I think is a significantly better chance of getting a game than anyone else, so it's no issue for me to split them evenly. I think Crawford from my rookie list is about the same chance, and the other 4 rookies are unlikely to play this season. So I've used Crawford and the 5 supps in every spot I can, and topped up with McNeil, Redden, Milera and Langford when I have extra spots to fill. I used Bolton more towards the end because that's the time Collingwood have thrown in untried kids in recent years.

Things you might consider if you had a less even supp list
* Rookie replacements count the same as a senior replacement, although the likelihood is you won't be able to use him, so use your worst supp(s) here. This will get you an extra use of your good supp(s).
* If you've got 5 senior players out and your opponent's at full strength, you're probably going to lose anyway, so you might not use your best supp even if that means you don't make all five replacements.
* You might also want to use a spud supp in a week where his team has the bye.

Rules to remember:
1. Your most-used supp can only be used once more than your least-used supp. Rookies can be used as much as you like, it has no impact on how often you use other rookies or supps.
2. You don't have to fill all the replacement spots even if you have the rookies/supps to cover them.
3. You must nominate which replacements cover rookies, and if you have two or more rookies with the bye in one week, then you must nominate which replacement covers which rookie. These replacements are only available if the rookie has been promoted to cover for a LTI.

If you have any questions, ask them. I will try to check that people have done things right early enough for you to fix them, but the later you leave it the less chance there is that I'll get to it. If you are going to be unavailable late in the week and need me to check earlier, make sure you let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Was about to attempt this but thought id ask some questions first.

1) Can we only play rookies on the weeks that you have an * next to?
2) Can rookies only play if they have been promoted for an LTI
3) Rounds which have say 5+ players eligible for the supp rule, can you say name a supp player first then in brackets put a rookie instead of them or vice versa
4) Say we have supps we can pick for one week and we name the 5 for that week, does whoever we listed first have to play or can it be any of the 5 we submitted play?

Thatll do for now :)

1) Can we only play rookies on the weeks that you have an * next to?
2) Can rookies only play if they have been promoted for an LTI
The * means one of the your rookies has the bye. That means whoever replaces that rookie is only eligible if the rookie would've been (i.e. they'd been promoted for an LTI).

3) Rounds which have say 5+ players eligible for the supp rule, can you say name a supp player first then in brackets put a rookie instead of them or vice versa
I think that's irrelevant after the answer to 1 & 2.

4) Say we have supps we can pick for one week and we name the 5 for that week, does whoever we listed first have to play or can it be any of the 5 we submitted play?
The supps are added to your list for that week, then they're just like any other player on your list - you can pick them in your 18, on the bench or not at all.

Alright, I get it.

I'll have Grover and Silverlock for every week I have more than one replacement.
I'll have Grover in every week I have only one replacement.
