Don't forget we played the last two finals with eight defenders:

Balta
Grimes
Short
Vlas
Houli
Astbury
Baker and
Broad

As a rule we would only play seven. Having Asbury back in worked (what a brilliant piece of player management that turnednout to be. He, Edwards and Prestia all slotted back in so well) and freed up Balta. Also Broad came back in and balanced us up beautifully. It all clicked. 8 defenders.

So I think the spot in the 22 will go to Caddy and we revert to seven defenders. Pickett then becomes a rotation player for impact/defensive cover rather than starting on the wing. Essentially we have three big strong defensive wingers. All of whom tend to go forward and kick goals too. Nice.

That's also assuming Prestia gets up to play (which he is confident he will). If he doesn't it looks like Martyn or RCD could get a shot at it. Based on Ross not getting a go against Collingwood that is.

If they keep Egg it can only be for cover. But then Mansell is cover too and we haven't seen much of him.

I think they will keep the spot open because we have a plethora of half backs.
