Support for Melbourne First

Interesting to read the Melbourne First Group, lead by Mr Gutnick has been able to attract some high profile support of its own. Such people to declare support include former player Laurie Fowler, former and well known umpire Glenn James and the mother of David Schwarz, Mary.
I do have to ask one thing, what is Glenn James's connection to MFC?
Also do you think it is a bit dangerous for current players to get involved in this campaign? By this I would assume The Ox would support Melbourne First if his mother does.

i was actually shocked that Mary was at the breakfast. Not totally shocked, but yeah. I would actually be interested to see what way the players vote, and if some of them actually come out and say who they voted for. Although i dont know if this means Schwarta would go for melbourne first. He has other things on his mind right now.

i don't really think it was a good idea to have a players mum at one of the meetings. that only brings it closer to on feild stuff, and now schwarta MIGHT get cought up in it too. that can't be good! any ways, i guess its nice to know she supports melbourne first, i'm just worried about on feild stuff...

If people want to support someone they are allowed to front to their functions....

Merger issue is totally different.
With the merger, it is the Joe supporters that keep bringing it up. We want to move on, but your mob just keep mentioning it all the time.

Well i don't think Neale would encourage the players to come out and say who they voted for coz as Mish said, it will bring the whole issue one inch closer to the field and thats one thing we gotta avoid.
Saying that, i think its good that player's relatives are showing involvment with the club, and that they are open about who they are voting for. I would love to know what each player will be voting, but i think that its better to keep this things private.

Who your mother supports has nothing to do with who support. My mum supports the Bulldogs. I don't. Likewise, just because Mrs Schwarz supports Melbourne First doesn't mean David does.
