Bet he chooses vita brits over wheetbix. What a prick.

I hear your angst, but can we be honest and acknowledge that it's not for us to understand or judge how 'the other half' (or 1%) live? Even if our betters survive upon souls or blood transfusions from welfare recipients, it really isn't for us to ask too many questions...

42 people have the equivalent wealth of 3,700,000,000 people. I hear alex wants to make that 43

Sounds like Alex is fighting to spread the wealth, starting with him. Go Alex!

A few more tidbits about our friend Alex....

A few years back, he set up a foundation - 2 in fact. Both use the Waislitz name to use the huge respect that he has in philanthropic circles. He promised to give $50 million over 5 years. Very little has eventuated. However, it does fund a thing called the "global citzen" ( google it) and it gives prizes worth $100K to someone who comes up with a good idea to save the world. The person gets 50K and a free trip to New York where Alex presents him with an award and the loot. I think Alex has saved the world a couple of times via this strategy.

Normally I wouldnt worry much about him but he is the vice president of the club that I support......so his generosity and selflessness inspires me

We live in a cynical age, as I'm sure you would know. Many people would dismiss such philanthropic ventures as corporate grandstanding and shameless self-promotion, but you have embraced the idealism and you've been inspired by it. Call me Oprah, but I am inspired by your inspiration.

Now I'll need to conjure my own idea to save the world. I don't have anything firm in mind, but I do have a vague sense that the world would be a better place if more people were more wealthy. I just need to figure out how to turn that into a definite plan of action.

Actually, the inspiration is right in front of you and that inspiration is Alex Waislitz, our Vice President.

All you need to do is to make a commitment that everyone in the world will have enough to eat and have a safe and prosperous life.... and you would have done enough.

Actually, I made a declaration to myself that I would inspire others and you have just witnessed the magic.

Confidently, I heard through unreferenced sources that Alex was the source of the love and care expressed by buckley and the players. It seems that Alex was looking into the mirror one morning and expressed his love and told buckley about it.....

Alex will not be getting a Christmas card from Mark. Confirmed.

By the way, I found Alex.

Evidently he jetted in from New York and attended the Grand Final because of all the corporates that attend. I suppose when you think about it, it's the reason that he puts his name to the vice presidency. It would be stupid not to turn up at the grand final and not use the opportunity to do a little business.
Tacky

Keep it up after all year bagging the bloke, enough already after a g/f

Better more informed people than you have endorsed him

Done heaps for the club and he may be very very busy, being successful

Guys like him and Korda and Eddie DONATE their time and it's worth a lot more than mostper hour

This thread has taken quite a turn, hasn't it. Amidst the corporate high flying I forgot to say well done to those who made it to the supporter's day. I was indisposed, poisoned by approximately 3 litres of alcohol, but I wish that I'd attended.

yes we should get the thread back on track.... I was just interested in the activities of our vice president on the day. we should discuss the catering etc.

I know you're interested in Alex. I know that you probably can't help it, which is a testament to (a) your obsession or (b) Alex's irrefutable charisma.

So, how about that catering...

The fact you had to walk all the way around the back was a bit stupid. Then when exiting you couldn’t turn right so those who wanted to make a quick break to get to Swan St had to do a whole lap. I’m sure it was to avoid congestion near the roads but whatever.
