Surprise Grand final is on the cards this year in the TAC cup.

Dandenong vs Eastern.

Dandenong will win by 23 points. Bookmark it.
I would love it if you were right but I think I have more chance of Tattslotto, Knights, Cannons, Power and maybe Chargers when they get all players back will challenge (if Chargers make it) Stingrays will get stronger when they get their schoolies back too

Yeh agree about Oakleigh. When they get all their players back, they'll go very, very well, just like last year. I reckon it'll be a re-match of last year, Calder vs Oakleigh.

Fair point macca, they've just got to stay in touch on the ladder in the meantime. Although its not impossible to come through to TAC finals the long way, a few top four sides at the end of home and away have fallen in semi's the past few years and sides 5-8 have made the prelims.

I still think Northern, once they get all their players on the ground will be the ones who can threaten.

Northern are certainties if they get everyone on the park.
Calder, Oakleigh or Gippsland rate next.
The Jets really should have won yesterday and should account for Calder this week. If they finish top 4 they will allow others who are well credentialled to get eliminated in first week of finals.

Agree, The Jets wont back down just yet. 8 rounds till finals, anything can happen with the ladder being so close and with players coming back and forth from injury and school footy for most teams.

Based on the Who will win the 2007 TAC Cup Grand Final poll on the tac cup website.....
14% Northern
14% Calder
14% Western
11% Oakleigh
10% Geelong
9% Gippsland
7% Dandenong
6% Bendigo
5% Sandringham
3% Eastern
3% Murray
3% North Ballarat

Anyone agree to disagree?

If the Knights are at full strength, then I believe they are the team to beat. Calder and Oakleigh are the other teams to watch through the second half of the year.

Based on the ladder, the current top five sides look shoe ins to make finals. Geelong sitting 5th are 3 wins plus percentage ahead of the current 9th placed side. Thats a lot of ground for the rest to make up. I suspect the top five are safe, the other three spots will be fought out by the rest.

In the next few weeks while teams have players missing anything can happen. I can't see any reason Sandringham with some school kids back can't knock off Murray with their championships players missing this weekend, Bendigo play Dandenong so the winner there may well move into the top 8. North Ballarat vs Oakleigh is another one, if NB win then all of a sudden the start to cement a spot in the eight and move a little further ahead of the Chargers. Two weeks ago, the Rebels were bottom of the ladder - now with consecutive wins they sit in the top 8. That's how even the competition is below the top and how the top eight system gives everyone a chance to play finals.

We're still a long way off, only just past half way in the season so anything can happen.
