FTA-TV Survivor 38 'Edge of extinction'

There's nothing on 9now promising it being released earlier than 7:30. I think we're supposed to wait for then.
That's what I'm thinking too. It's on a bit early compared to last season when it started at 9:30, didn't it?.

This is from : https://www.nineentertainmentco.com.au/2019/02/18/17/26/take-one-step-closer-to-the-edge

The new season will be fast-tracked from America with episodes available to watch just hours after the USA, from 4.00pm AEDT the same day also on 9Now.

I can't remember if I liked Aubry or not. That was the season two years ago that I saw most in the US and the last episodes after moving back here. It seems so long ago.

I've been to Pigeon Forge Tennessee. That's Dollywood country! Hicksville USA!

They named the one tribe after the judge on MKR??????

I missed it too. I might have been in the loo.

Reem apparently had never seen an episode before. Idiot.

News guy does look like Subway Jarrod.

David is annoying and a wimp. I forgot how much I hated him.

Meh first episode.

I missed the start of the episode. Where did "Wardog" get his name? Is he an ex-soldier or something?

Dan "The Wardog" DaSilva

Biography

Age: 38
Hometown: Ossining, New York
Current residence: Los Angeles
Occupation: Law Student/Former Military

Hobbies: Gym, basketball, and Netflix binging.

Pet peeves: Weakness for sure, but most of all negative energy, that person who just complains constantly that the world never breaks their way.

Three words to describe you: Confident, self-amused, and passionate.

What is your personal claim to fame?
Bronze Star Medal in Afghanistan, close second was being the youngest in my Basic Training company and making it through in a time when 20 percent or so were sent home. It was 1997 pre-war standards.

Who or what is your inspiration in life?
The young men and women who joined the Army after the war began, I fought alongside these 19, 20, and 21-year-olds, and they certainly were my heroes.

If you could have three things on the island, what would they be and why?
Nail clippers: I don't know why, dirty long nails just strike a chord.
Football: it would be nice to have something to toss around.
Chess Board or deck of cards: sometimes it would be nice to remove your brain from the game but I don't know if that's even possible.

Which Survivor contestant are you the most like?
The Wardog is his own blend—I’m not Tony, I'm not the Specialist, I'm not Boston Rob. Whose game did I respect the most? That's a better question. I thought Yul played great, I thought Mike was a great winner, I loved Parvati's game, Earl dominated, the third version of Tyson, the first version of Country Bumpkin (J.T).

What's your reason for being on Survivor?
Win the game of games! Also, to go on an adventure that few will ever partake in, and to challenge myself physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Why do you think you'll "survive" Survivor?
I bring a certain sex appeal that men my age haven't had for over a decade or most have never had. But I digress; I also bring a sharp mind, likable joyful personality, one that can be both subservient when I need to be and a leader when there is a vacuum of leadership. I bring a strong set of physical skills, and I won't be the one whining and complaining. In the end, I'll make them laugh when we are all having a miserable moment

Felt more like a standard mid season episode than a premiere.
It was really rushed. Almost no getting to know you chats on the boat/at the challenge. Barely any character development on the Joey Amazing tribe.

Only 29 confessionals for this entire premiere; 45 for DvG. We don't know how much time EoE is going to eat into the episodes either.

According to Dalton Ross there was a bouy full of canned food at the marooning that they cut - probably because Joey Amazing retrieved it and making fire on day 1 served the same purpose.

This would have been the best part of the premiere.

Not sold, not a fan of the design of the new twist. Reeks of 'the outcast' (Pearl Islands) vibes. Also, I don't like the returning player 'captains' idea. However, I will admit it did work in the Phillipines, so willing to give it a chance.

On an unrelated note, the cinematography last night was incredible.
