Something happened so cool but I dont actually think it was all that great of a plan by Kyle and Kamilla and it just happened to work because the quality of player they are up against is very average

I think this is lining up to be a Kyle win.

He has a pretty decent final tribal resume now by basically showing that Joe tried to play an honour and integrity game but ended up being manipulated by Kyle to vote out his mates David and Shauhin.

Looks like the Finale is on LIVE at 10am Thursday on 9Go and then repeated at 7:30pm.

I’m tipping an underwhelming episode with Dave getting up at Tribal looking like Hercules only for the sound of Mickey Mouse coming from his lips

Weirdly edited final tribal. Got stuff all from Joe. Can only presume they ripped him a new one for the David / Shauhin votes and they didn't show it. Kyle deserved to win after bamboozling Joe & Eva with the Shauhin vote out. Eva's face just sunk when Kyle put it on the table with help from Kamilla

Predictable winner from a long way out but he played the best game and got what he wanted when he wanted for the most part

He was the right winner, but it was not a very exciting season.

It proved I guess that the move by him and Kamilla to get the vote on Shauhin was it.

Interesting to hear at the end that they would voted Kamilla winner had she made the three.

Good winner, boring finale, boring season.

Crazy that the person that looked like they had no chance of winning the fire challenge before tribal ended up winning it. I think that's the only time that's happened apart from literally every other fire challenge.

David refusing not to be the main character of the season. Bring him back

Jeff saying pre season that he thinks people will think 48 is a great season and saying tonight that Mitch will be one of most peoples' favourite players.

Just a great sign of how much the guy in charge knows the audience.

Kyle deserved the win but yes, a very boring end.

I really dislike the final four to three and the fire making.

I felt so bad for Mitch, he deserved better.

Snooze of a season, shame about the quality of gameplay. Quite a boring alliance to have so much control throughout the merge.

Also the fact that Mary & Star gave their votes to Eva....

The fact there was only one question of idols or no idols in the last voting batch after the season started out with 4 questions each time about how super powered!!! and game changing!!! the advantages and twists should be makes me hopeful that the votes did not go to the way Probst wanted/expected.

Agree with the first part. The casual US fan would likely love Joe, Eva and Mitch.

Re the 50 voting, I don't even know if we were eligible to vote and I wouldn't have bothered even if I knew we were.

Most of it was just either pointless crap or they just worded it in a way they will just do whatever they want and justify how it matched the vote afterwards.

I would say the 3 most relevant things to me would be:

• Cast
• Number of days 26 v 39
• Number of starting tribes 2 v 3

I understand why they weren't options due to production reasons / costs etc but everything else meh really.

I don’t think Jeff himself was the biggest fan of this season but I tend to also think he is right that the main audience would have enjoyed the Joe and Eva story. The people who post online about it like us make up such a small percentage of the audience

As much as I was annoyed at them not targeting Joe or Eva, it's hard to say Kyle/Kamilla put a foot wrong. Kinda played it perfectly, albeit in a very non-strategic season. Their reveal was the best part of the finale.

An aside, am all caught up on the last three seasons of Survivor AU, and it's pretty clear that it's the defintive version of Survivor. Not perfect - non-voting eps, idols, LaPaglia having the same 10 questions he repeats at every tribal - but it does most things really well.

I can never get through a season of Australian Survivor, too many episodes and the editing doesn't feel right. Can't connect to a lot of the players there. I could at least finish US season 48 and enjoy some of the characters, even though it was a real snoozer strategically. I wanted Kamilla to win but Kyle was a decent outcome too, happy enough with the ending.
