Will be knifed 6-9 months out from the election so that the new leader can go super small target.

Have a connected friend who is sure it will be sooner than that. Taylor will contest next year. And he will win because the Libs are just that stupid.

They see all the moderates losing as a reason to go more conservative. Which is simply batshit crazy. But then, people like Taylor are batshit crazy.

I’m sure undermining a female leader will boost their women vote /s

Taylor is possibly the worst performing politician in Australia. He is a complete joke of a man.

Just the man for the Libs.

The whole Palestine thing is just being handled so badly by the Liberals. The very first thing they said should have been "Cannot have a Palestine state led by Hamas". They then dont even need an opinion on whether or not to have Palestine be a state. And puts all the pressure on the government to defend the stance of voting in favour of statehood while led by terrorists.

But they are so stupid they just come out with "No, no, no." and days later talked about Hamas.

If this had been their stance it would have made their attack on Albo so much stronger. Not to mention actually being a very legitimate position.

The current Liberals are an evangelical Christian party and a greater Israel is a core value of the evangelicals. Unconditional support of Israel is an unconditional requirement for the Liberal base.

I know there are some small "l" liberals somewhere - but they do not have the numbers anywhere.

The so-called resurrection of the federal LNP is little more than a really awful sequel.

It's hard to see how the party have a path back to re-election in the foreseeable future with garbage like this. I personally don't understand it, they were given the most direct feedback you could possibly ask for from the electorate at the last election, yet here we are.

If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got...

Not long with any say or power.

She's had a mare repeatedly over Gaza and coming across as defending Israeli politicians vs the interest of Australians will eventually have her cooked with the electorate.

At some point the backbiting will start from the right to undercut her power in the party room. But no one's going to evict her this far out from an election.

so long as the right-wing crazies own the libs, we are free from them as a government.

With the prospect of 3 straight Labor wins Sky News will become feral come 2027. Rita and the rest of them will be out for blood and the Libs will give Suzie the arse. In comes Hastie, he will do what Dutton did and pander to the hard right, lose, and the libs will learn nothing while Sky screeches that he still wasn't conservative enough.

I’m starting to think Skynews has been produced for Labor….. and its been set up to drag the LNP so far right that it becomes unelectable.

Moderates are leaving in droves. The hardliners will Democrats themselves.

A truly conservative party would have the ALP on the ropes.

I'd take fiscal and social conservative politics over anything that's currently on the menu.
Trapped in the pre-Scomo era.

The demographics have tipped completely. Australian millenials and Zoomers are, going by the polling, repulsed by both social and fiscal conservatism. And they represent the largest voting bloc.

Also, since when have fiscal convervatives ever been popular in Australia. Howard was the big spender. It's just his targets for punitive cuts were well chosen to please the Boomers as he feathered their nests with generous tax concessions and treats.

Abbott was nearly run out of town with his first proposed budget.

And social conservatism? Boomers and outer Suburban Gen Xers may like the odd racist dog whistle, but on other issues are nowhere near as deranged as their US or UK counterparts. Not even mentioning younger generations.

I concede on fiscal conservatism. We're a dumb nation.

Gay marriage is part of social conservatism, as is acceptance of multiculturalism.
