I remember seeing Downer get heckled on the first day of the Adelaide Ashes Test in '95, nothing bad but a few dead man walking comments and remember thinking how bad it would have to get for a Liberal leader to cop it in the member's at Adelaide Oval. He resigned on the last day.

The Liberals need to cut Sky free and let them drift entirely into obscurity.

A bipartisan rejection of Sky would be a good thing for Australia and might actually help save the Liberal Party.

Even in Brisbane they only have two seats, Longman and Bowman, both of which are on the outer edges and full of retirees. It's the Gold and Sunshine Coasts, which have even more retirees plus the lingering country town mentality, that are basically the entire urban LNP federally at the moment.

To my understanding, the leadership ballot included three senators who won’t be in parliament come 1 July, as well as Gisele Kapterian, who at the end of the first count is behind in Bradfield. All four are moderates. Ley won by three votes.

Not sure why they rushed to a ballot before everything was settled, but I can’t see the Right letting sleeping dogs lie for too long.

Ley isn't terrible, I always have questions about those born overseas, particularly on her parents colonial adventures.
