Expect the usual suspects to have a super sized tantrum if Australia gets up. The very fact that they have campaigned so hard against their own country is disturbing.

so you won't be blaming the AFL if our bid is unsuccesful ?
Absolutely not. FFA and our federal government have done a superb job putting on an excellent bid backed by all codes who support it fully. Australia comes out of this bid for the better regardless of the result.

If we don't get 2022 it will be more due to our lack of political experience on such a large world stage. There isn't a bid that has a better combination of legacy, security and sporting culture then ours.

In any case, I'll still be able to enjoy the World Cup overseas if we are not lucky enough to have it here. On the other hand if we do win the likes of Munro Mick will be pissing and moaning about it for the next 12 years and will probably blame the World Cup if North goes bust within the next 12 years.

Sun is shining, the birds are twittering, and Munro Mick is smelling the napalm in the morning breeze.

Well now you can't blame the WC if north go south :)
Nah, just the state election.

although, I'm pretty sure Ballarat will happen anyway. It's been North's focus for a couple of years now.

The Hobart thing was pretty well other parties that presented the opportunity to North.

But, if they hold on, one way or another until the AFL assume ownership at Docklands, then they and all other clubs will be fine for the foreseeable future.
