His kicking has never been great but it used to be adequate. Since his comeback, he has lost A LOT of penetration in his kicking. 40-45 metres seems to be his max.
Combine that with Jack Z's 35m finger-breakers and Sammy G's burnt scones...... Poppy from Seinfeld could be our number 1 ticket holder.

He did say he feels like he's a young player starting his career and we know when he started that was a problem area. Better get back to hitting some targets soon.

He brings a lot of other qualities we need to the table. His kicking is the least of our worries. Some consistency in effort and intent are bigger concerns.

You are completely wrong there. You can never ever question those 2 things with Swallow. He gives every ounce he has.

Devilfish is right so he needs to be smarter & handball more. A few times he has won a free kick & should look to give it off straight away
like a ruckman than wander back & kick it. Play to your strengths !!!

Sorry. I didn't mean Swallow, I was referring to the team as a whole. Swallow pretty much sets the standard in effort/intent. Along with Greenwood IMO

So Swallow, like Ziebell it would seem, needs to be under instruction to handball?

I don't think its any worse than prior to his injury,,,,,just that his progress back from injury is coming under more scrutiny. In fact I remmber being laughed off this forum last season for suggesting that there is not much between swallow and greenwood as players except swallow is a slightly better user of the ball. My view is unchanged, although I'd venture to say Levi is a more reliable kick on goal.
