Ok it must be me but I thought Swan was overseas? On Foxsports tonight Pies training and showed Swan back a week early and training hard, N Brown looked huge, Maxy moved well and Clarke looked sharp... Also saw a couple of young kids, one with a cap on backwards and a large tatt on his arm Little bloke, and another that looked like Elliott moving incredible well...... Oh yes and a GIANT towering over the MCG, think it was Witts..Keep in mind it's what I saw on TV.... Was about Pies inexperience coaching panel and Eade wondering what going to the US will be like..

What's the deal with Rocket's hat?

Has Mick's beret/driving cap become official merchandise?

AHAHA I was thinking the same thing.

Rockets hat just isn't on properly at one side its folded under.. #worldfirstproblems

^^ Only heard about this "saying" the other day, hilarious.

Ugle wears a cap backwards at training, was probably him. Little left footer, and I am pretty sure he has a tatt.

Robert Harvey's new haircut is looking very stylish
Well he couldn't afford one while he was assistant coach at St Kilda.;):p

And Bucks' wants all his assistants to look the part.:D

On a more serious note, I thought I say MaCaffer out there in one of those vids, if so, great to see him back in the fold, I see him as a very vital part of our 2012 season.

Also, it might be just coincidence, but it seemed every time a player marked the ball on the boundary, they immediately looked towards the centre, maybe Bucks has told them to at least look in the middle for options, rather then just ignore it "Malthouse style".

I bet when Eade said "people who can't kick will find themselves in trouble very quickly" it would have been music to Shpeshal Ed's ears.

I guess that puts our fringe players on notice that disposal is king, particularly if we use the corridor more. I think to beat Geelong, a more aggressive "kill before we are killed" game style will be needed; probably will need that also against Hawthorn.

It doesn't mean throw the defensive structure up the wall, nor even not going round the boundary line when there are no options in the middle. It's just having those times when the game opens up, and being able to get a fast break down the middle and capitalising on it; that's the sort of movement I'd like to see more often in 2012.

It's a shame Leon Davis won't be there, because during 2011 he showed exactly that sort of ability.

Great professionalism from Swanny.

I almost forgot about Nathan Brown and seeing him in that vid was music to my ears.

Lastly, Marty Clarke looks to be in seriously good shape. Has bulked up considerably since we last saw him. His return has been timely.

Elliot is pretty bulked, could play straight away I reckon. Also given Eade's comments on kicking, Young, Yagmoor and Clarke will all get games.

I can't see Swan out there...

Yep its good to see some of the senior boys back.Great to see them getting into the action early.

We need some big pre seasons from a few of the seniors then ready to rock and roll next year.

I was was trying to figure out which teams in the eight will improve more and challenge for the premiership next year.

I reckon Geelong will be top 4-5 but will drop a bit.3 Flags in 5 years is great. The loss of ling and Ottens will effect them, but they still ahve a core group of good players, and some exciting youngsters.

Hawthorn will improve and challenge especially with roughead back.

We will definately set the benchmark.

West Coast will move closer again. But playing at the G consistantly may prove hard especially during the finals.I reckon they will try and snag leon, and get him playing the Wirrupunda role.

I reckon the outside challenge may come from the saints.New coach still have a strong group of core players if they can find some middle tiered players who can step up they will improve.
Laidely and Watters are an interesting pair who will work well together.

Carlton will improve again and if they stay relatively injury free they will be top 4.

So still

Collingwood
Geelong
Carlton
Hawthorn
West Coast
Stkilda

These are the six teams that will challenge for the flag next year i reckon.

Your thoughts ?

Sorry guys i should have thrown Fremantle in there too.
If Lyon can get them playing well and keep injury free they could upset a few.
The Bombers are an interesting one but don;t have much depth.

The Pies have a very tough draw ths year and it will influence results with back to back hard games against Quality.

Hawthorn wil be looking for revenge over us. Depends how Roughead comes back. But they are a tough side and exposed us in the finals.

Geelong's staple midfield is still in tack so don't underestmate them. Everyone thought they would fall off last year. Ling only played ne good game all year - the Grand Final so won't be missed. They wil win all home games again.

Carlton could be like a horror movie if Waite and Kruseur stay injury free.

St Blunda will enjoy the freedom to attack for the first itme in 7 years. Lenny Hayes return is their key.

Hopefully West Toast don't pick up Leon. He would be awesome for them. Nik Nat and an improving young list.

Essendon could challenge if Jobe Watson and Mick Hurley stay fit.

I doubt we will waltz through this year only losing to one side.

I hope we make top 4 for the finals and go from there.

As we found out last year, no point being June champions.

All that counts is how you play in September.

Maxwell said on Monday that Caf, Dids and N Brown were all at training. (On Twitter)

I am very pleased to hear of the guys coming back a little early, it shows great dedication and drive.

legendstatus,

In answer to your original question, Swan came home last weekend.

P.S. I have no problem with discussions on hats.....lol

Looking there and going there are two totally different things!
