Sunday Times quoted that Swans will receive $288,000 from yesterdays draft. Obviously it is a shame to lose so much home grown talent but hopefully we can use the money wisely to find some talent.

On the plus side we'll still have some talented colts coming up and looks like we'll be having Naita in the Black and White next year.

Hopefully we can go one better in 2009!

Looks like we're already putting that money to good use Jack, trying to entice Steve Armstrong across to be with his brothers. Now I know why I used to see him at Swans more than Perth, the penny drops!

Swans have also secured Matt Carr as the full time assistant coach for reserves and colts development, looking after "talent identification" from 14's (I think) up.

I love the slogan for next year, what do you think Jack?

"HUNGRY FOR MORE"

Saw it on a singlet a kid had at the shops in Beechboro today. Told my 8yo I would get one for him and he got a little embarrassed, but it's very apt for him, can never get enough food. Bloody kids :D. But I digress and I was more impressed that a teenage kid, not training with the club (because I asked) would wear a WAFL clubs gear. Good stuff!

Well I'm glad he found the singlet and I LOVE the slogan. I can't believe that the website has not been updated since the draft. If the club is serious about increasing membership they have to work hard at this sort of thing.

Great to see we are getting some respect back!!

On a side note I am going to sign my Wife up this year too. I took her to Basso one day and then Subi the next and she is much more fond of the WAFL atmosphere!

CARN YOU BLACK DUCKS!!

Not a bad quote, wouldn't mind one of those myself for training!

I'll see what I can do for you hansie. Intend to get to the club over Christmas so we'll see.

Got the old boy a Swannies membership for Christmas which is the best present I could have bought. He grew up playing with guys like Sidebottom through the ranks but had to move for work so it will be great for him to catch up with his old mates

The WAFL atmosphere is far better then AFL.

You can pull up a patch of grass on a hill, you're not crammed in, you can sit with friends easily enough, beer and food is reasonably priced, it's not a hassle to get in/out, the footy is old school accountable footy, less moronic fans, can have a kick on the ground...the list goes on. I barely enjoy going to Subi but I love going to see the Black Ducks
