Been saying exactly the same thing since 2013. Other Swans fans on the Swans board are probably sick of me saying it actually.
There are a few who early on saw Mitchell leaving as being bad because of the up and down nature of a few of your mids who were going to get exposed.

Just ignore that idiot and let's get on with it
I was, but a confused BFer asked.

I dare say most know what Horse needs to do. Move on the players who are massive Home and Away front runners. Get rid of all big cost players and end that experiment. Continue to hit the academy for cheap youf.

Does he have the guts?

Why do you think he doesn't lift for the big games? I think he's a gun and can't work out why this would be the case. I get the impression he rates himself a little but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

The only knocks on his game are kicking and speed, but then again that is the same for nearly all contested ball-winning mids.
He isn't that good of a clearance player. There is a media perception that the Swans are clearance beasts but it just isn't true. We often lose the clearances and when we win them, a big percentage of them are hack kicks forward. We don't have a lot of the precision clearances that many other teams enjoy.

Also, I did this a few years ago so it is not entirely relevant anymore but here was disposal efficiency of the Swans, compared to the Hawks

1. Daniel Howe - 92.2%, (Heath Grundy - 82.3%)
2. James Frawley - 87.1%, (Zak Jones - 82.2%)
3. Josh Gibson - 86.1%, (Jeremy Laidler - 80.3%)
4. Jonathan Simpkin - 85.7%, (Rhyce Shaw - 80.3%)
5. Grant Birchall - 85.1%, (Jarrad McVeigh - 79.9%)
6. Ben McEvoy - 84.8%, (Dane Rampe - 78.8%)
7. Angus Litherland - 84.4%, (Harry Cunningham - 78.2%)
7. Matt Spangher - 84.4%, (Nick Smith - 77.8%)
9. Jonathan O'Rourke - 82.4%, (Lewis Jetta - 77.6%)
10. Ben Stratton - 80.7%, (Ted Richards - 75.8%)
11. Brian Lake - 80.1%, (Sam Reid - 74%)
12. Billy Hartung - 79.1%, (Daniel Robinson - 73.7%)
13. Shaun Burgoyne - 78%, (Jake Lloyd - 73.3%)
14. Taylor Duryea - 77.8%, (Isaac Heeney - 72.3%)
15. Bradley Hill - 76.9%, (Kieren Jack - 72.2%)
16. David Hale - 76.1%, (Mike Pyke - 71.3%)
17. Isaac Smith - 75.9%, (Dan Hannebery - 71.3%)
18. Matthew Suckling - 75.6%, (Tom Mitchell - 71.1%)
19. Brendan Whitecross - 75%, (Dean Towers - 71.1%)
19. Jack Gunston - 75%, (Kurt Tippett - 70.4%)
21. Paul Puopolo - 74.5%, (Xavier Richards - 70%)
22. James Sicily - 73.7%, (Brandon Jack - 69.8%)
23. Luke Breust - 73.6%, (Craig Bird - 69.7%)
24. Luke Hodge - 73.5%, (Ben McGlynn - 69.6%)
25. Cyril Rioli - 73.4%, (Gary Rohan - 68.7%)
26. Sam Mitchell - 73.1%, (Luke Parker - 68.1%)
27. Jonathon Ceglar - 71.1%, (Adam Goodes - 67.6%)
28. Ryan Schoenmakers - 71%, (Josh P. Kennedy - 64.2%)
28. Jordan Lewis - 71%, (Toby Nankervis - 61.5%)
30. Liam Shiels - 70.6%, (Lance Franklin - 59.2%)

All through the top 30, the Swans were consistently worse, and I suspect the disposal efficiency numbers have not improved much in 2017.

Should Horse offer Buddy to GWS with Rohan for Lobb and Kelly?

A serious shakeup is required.

No

Reality is unfortunately we as a club have a lot of fans who will pour in just to see a big name

Also say what you want about the buddy deal, he has done his part, he busts his arse for the side every week, running him into the ground

It was an extreme example. But clearly Horse has to do something. You cant keep making finals then go missing when it counts. Or hoping the other team will have a bad day.

How about a new coach.

I think even a swans critic would agree there is at least the talent to be a contending finals side at the moment, you cant win 14/16 if you are crap,

To me we have a coach who is ok, but has an inflated record because his side can win anyway, come finals it gets harder, I think thats where coaches earn their money, thats just me

He does bust a gut. That many Colemans and he, and probably Malceski, were the best in the GF 2014. And yep - a money printing machine. Everyone enjoys watching Buddy. In my well informed and under-appreciated Buddy's Regret thread there were too many who bagged Buddy. The dude is one of the hardest working guys in footy.

To his own detrement really

If I were in charge of the team and easy to say it from the cheap seats, i would be managing him, he should not play every game for a year, especially if you want any hope to get him through the contract, or even thinking yearly, lets get him fresh for finals

He has to bust a gut. He is on a million a year. Nothing less is expected.

Swans need to trade Tippett for some proper wingers/HBF's.

Stringer would be a nice fit at the Swans also.
I don't want to take a risk on Stringer. I was a big fan of the Swans getting Dayle Garlett, as I thought the Swans could sort out his issues as he was very talented, but the Hawks did not manage to do it, and essentially the Hawks wasted a second round draft pick. Stringer would cost more than a second rounder and what the Swans would pay for him could be just as wasted.

The Stringer risk is not in the same stratosphere as the Garlett risk. Having said that, he won't leave Melbourne anyway.

The Swans have their flaws, but could easily win next year's premiership with a little bit of tinkering. Really don't think wholesale changes are needed.

You lost all credibility when you made that comment. Who gives a rats who I go for? I am not allowed to make a comment on a public forum because I don't support Sydney? At the end of the day, you produce football like that in a do or die final you're going to get criticised, and it'll come from everyone. Might be best if you have a cup of tea and lie down if you're going to be so sensitive.
Melbourne would've finished bottom with an 0-6 start
