Given our injuries and the opposition we have been up against, I'll take 1 and 2.
We definitely looked better at stoppage with the 2 rucks. I thought Grundy was pretty good today but so was pistol Pete. Ladhams certainly deserves more opportunity. Chad was our BoG supported well by Rowie and JJ. The rest of the team all had some nice moments (mixed in with some crap stuff as well). Loved Bicey's goal and some of his field kicking when the game was there to be won was lovely. One concern was how easily Tommy was beaten on the lead but some of his intercept work was excellent too.

I nearly destroyed the TV. Could not believe that, then the umps do one better and not pay a 20+metre mark, rather play on resulting in the turnover.
Good gutsy win we needed, redemption for last year against Dockers.

Nice Perseverance win on a day it looked like it wouldn't' come together
Our pressure is good and the will is there but some of the skills and cohesiveness has been lacking all three games

Proud of the gutsy effort and nice to be on the right side for the year.
Jordon was brilliant in the first half, shut out Serong and clean in and under.
Ladhams had a hearty performance, made some great composed decisions and won some important clearances. Happy to see him make an impact in the seniors.
Bice won us the game too pretty much, great snag and to change the angles and not panic to setup the Amartey goal was a sign that he belongs.

I'm less worried about the system at this point to be honest. It is likely to evolve a bit over the season, with a new coach and changes in personnel etc. We were better in the contested ball, but need to find a way to create more pressure on the opposition when they get the clearance. All 3 games so far, opposition have waltzed it away far too often when they win the hard ball.
We have a starting point at least after that win - need to build on it as we start to hopefully see a few more troops approaching full fitness, and some welcome 'Ins' to come in coming weeks.
Can someone more learned than myself explain why if the ball has been bombed into their goal square, why our backs look at their forward and not up at the incoming bomb.
Is it because they have no faith in their own ability to contest?

Thought Heeney was equally as frustrating as he was good. Fantastic that he has plenty of upside.
Sheldrick had a few important late touches.
Bice is showing himself to be a composed player not influences by the slam on boot masters we have.
McLean showed early he is a slow turning liability but he really stepped up to probably be in the bests last half.
James Jordan is a consistent hard worker love his game.
And finally my whipping boy Ladhams. He was pretty good.

There's a fair bit of upside I reckon. We're missing half the team and got a win on the road.
Papley, Heeney, Blakey, Hayward, McLean, even Florent - all below their best at the moment - there's plenty of improvement there if they get going.
No Gulden, Fox, Cunners, Melican, Jmac, McDonald, Mills - there's a much better 22 to be had once we get over the injuries and players get back into form.
As many have said, Bice was ice in the end.
Big Peter Ladhams outpointed Grundy today. Maybe the two of them share the duties this season. Grundy will need to be rested.
JJ again showinghis superstar buddies what a good attitude can do.
Good to see some lesser names getting a run.
Chad looks more comfortable at the level..
Hannily getting valuable time.
So glad for Hamling. Makes you wonder why horse never gave him a go. He should hold his spot.
It was a crap game but we take the points, have a week off and work on stuff.
Maybe start with catching floaty, uncontested 20m marks. It's not that hard, fergodssacke.
Rest up for a week or so and come out firing against North.
