I have been really happy that we have used Gulden sparingly around the contest. His CBAs are down from 36% to 15%. This allows him to become the outside runner that the team has been crying out for all through the early part of the season and makes our clearance work much more damaging.

Last 5 games we have become the best team at stoppage in the league by a COUNTRY MILE. So in essence we have completely flipped the type of team we are from last year, to this year.

Is it something to be optimistic over though? Looking at those standings it's clearly not a telling stat line for what makes a good team. I mentioned this in the Cox thread too earlier in the year, winning the stoppage is not what matters in today's game, in fact it can hinder it, you're actually better off making the oppo get sucked into the contest and setting up to collect on the outside or turnover. imo that's actually why we finished 1st last year. I stand by my opinion of we've overcorrected on the back of that one gf game and are now over focussed on parts of our game that actually make it more of an effort to manage a win.

I personally wouldn't have given Chad votes, he was frustrating me at the ground. Thought the backline deserved a bit more love.

Ditto lizard, Wicks Hamling better imo, but guess I’m not a coach for a reason, that third quarter of Lizard and Chad trying to be fancy was infuriating

We are 5/6 and almost beat the Doggies with some keys out. I’d suggest that it entirely proves my point and also links to your point. We have runners on the outside rather than being so clumped in. Helps us to transition and also helps to defend the ground better alongside force turnovers of the opposition.

We have the best team make up of the last month in the competition (except the fact we can’t kick straight) which isn’t anything to do with what u or I have said.
