Agreed

- Goal accuracy is worse than you would expect from a under 14's game
- Forwards dont seem to understand that it helps to be infront of the defender in order to give the midfield options.
- Defenders dont seem to be trying as some average forwards are scoring bagloads of goals.
- Even though we have 2 full time ruckmen playing we are losing far too many centre clearances.

we played good at simple things but lacked alot of finish(eg fubbles not gooing at the ball hard enoght, shots on goal). I think in the break we should take a good look at ourselfs because the last 3 games our we have played good but not enough of the 1%ers and it's costing us games:mad:

I disagree. I think we dominated the general play, but they killed us on forward line efficiency. The last kick into our forward 50 wasn't great, we weren't hitting enough targets in there, but it got even worse when it came to lining up for goal. You just knew every time the Bulldogs lined up, they were going to kick it. When we lined up, regardless of the distance, I really had no idea what was going to happen.

Eh i thought it was one of those games really our side misses shots from 20-25m out, opposition kicks them from the boundary 50m out.

Positives

-Playfair i thought was ok took some marks and tried to be a target up forward
- Moore Jack and Bird continue to improve
- Goodes form seems to be improving was very good in the 4th
- Jarrad McVeigh form is impressive

Negatives

- Ben Mathews(WTF)
- Another game lost to Goal kicking
- Everitt was shocking
- 363 v 315 disposals our favour and we lost kinda worrying
- we took 93marks and lost kinda worrying

we've got some guys who are terrible in front of the sticks.

- J. Bolton
- Kirky ( i love him, but geez you wouldn't want the ball in his hands to win you the game after the siren)
-Buchanon
-Mcveigh (has improved though)
-ROK
-Playfair (did some good things, but again can't kick straight)
-MOL (tends to miss a lot of easy shots at goal)

And I hope all the LRT lovers are finally sick of him, I have been for two years and nobody seems to think I'm right... I think some will now.
From an outsiders view, dead agreed. I know KPP players take time, but nothing tells me that LRT will be anything other than a very average KPP player. Playfair was better and he has played 70 minutes this YEAR before today. I hate to say it again but bring in goal kicking mids- Vezpremi, etc.

Unfortunately we dont have alot of midfielders who can kick goals. Here is a list of our midfielders/forwards

Dean Terlich - Showed some promise in the NAB Cup but he is still only 18 years old
Brendan Murphy - Will be a apsolute gun but he has only been in Australia since November and even though he has shown some promise in the reserves is still probably a year off making his debut.
Patrick Veszpremi - Suppose to be a very good player but isnt built well enough at the moment for AFL and apparently doesnt have his fitness up to standard yet.
Daniel O'Keefe - Suppose to be quite good (though i didnt think much of him in the NAB Cup) and should be making his debut sometime this year.

Those are all of our midfielders who can act as a forward option and as you can see none of them are ready to step up into the first team.

hey I couldnt agree more, we must have missed each other in these forums last year when I ws saying LRT should never be seen again, at least not in elite AFL. he is bloody awful, cost us the game against the Roos IMO with turn overs, and was even worse today. How he gets a guernsey week after week is beyond me. He HAS actually gotten worse not better. He is a big time LIABILITY.

LRT had a bad game and probably should be dropped because of it but he wont be dropped as the Swans do not have another tall forward to replace him.

Does anyone know how Peter Faulks is progressing?

Our midfield went missing pretty much the whole game, bar Goodes. McVeigh had a great first quarter and then seemed to pack it up thinking he'd done his job.

- Matthews was not up to the level he needed to be. Too slow.

- Kicking to the forward line was atrocious.

- Magic just doesn't have it in him to beat the first defender these days. Not his fault though, he shouldn't have to. Barry stuffed us up.

- It's strange to say it, but I think we missed Ablett. He's one of our only midfielders who gets the ball from a clearance and gives it a roost. We tried to handball it out too many times today and turned it over a a result.

- Kicking for goal, was once again, atrocious. You can't afford to miss that many set shots. We'll get away with it against the weaker sides, but the Bulldogs just punished us. They showed every team how to kick today. That should be the standard in the AFL, but sadly it's not. We should do nothing but have goal kicking practice this week. We need to hire a kicking coach.

I need to watch the replay.

I thought we were in control for more than our share of the game - the first and third quarter we dominated around the ground. However, as has been a problem for a very long time, we couldn't convert that dominance into a winning score. Take the second quarter - they dominated the first 15-20 minutes and kicked 7 goals. We dominated the last 10-15 minutes and kicked 1 goal. We just don't have that needed class and polish inside our 50. Far too many easy set shots missed (Everitt, O'Loughlin, Bolton, Playfair come to mind, I'm sure there were others).

It also didn't help that the Bullies had a homing missile implanted in the ball before the game. 18-4 is almost unheard of. I can't remember that kind of kicking in my 20+ years of watching AFL although I'm sure it's happened.

Disappointing result again as we most certainly had our chances. Fumbles, poor decision making and inaccuracy cost us yet again.

p.s. WHEN THE ____ are they going to learn not to handball to a man who is about to be gang tackled when they themselves are in the clear and could throw it on the boot. So many hospital passes to players with opposition heat on.

Absolutely. 8-16 last week and tonnes of easy misses today. If it's a matter of skill, work them like dogs during the week to rectify it. If it's a matter of pressure and concentation, bring in some sports psychologists.

So frustrating.

What did LRT do? I only missed about 10 minutes of the last quarter and I honestly cannot remember LRT making costly mistakes.

I guess that makes three of us. I'm relatively new to these boards but there was a thread a while ago where a lot of people jumped to his defence. I was really surprised as I personally think he is possibly the least skilled player in the AFL and wouldn't get a game with any other team. Today wasn't his worst game, but he rarely does anything particularly good and he is often extremely poor.
