I gotta agree, you cant blame the big un-co fella today!
Leave him alone!
At least his contribution in the last three weeks has been much, much more then Barry Hall has given. Once he punched Staker, the year was always going to be as good as gone. He is worth at least 5 goals a game.
Whether he kicks them himself, whether the opposition have to worry about him or whether he gives the other forwards more opportunities by taking the best defender.

End of story. Don't blame Benny! Don't blame Goodes. Don't blame our poor kicking.

Barry Hall is the main problem.

The Swans Machine is starting to show signs of wear & tear unfortunately & some of Roos' decisions are a little desparate.

- Malceski having this "new" but risky op on his knee.
- Dropping Davis..................twice.....when MOL has been guilty of the same deeds.
-Although I don't blame Benny, bringing him into the team when perhaps another youngster could have had a go.
-not playing Nick Smith after only one fantastic debut against Geelong at the hell hole.
-plaing an obviously underdone Everitt. White deserved another chance.

I love Roosy but there are a few mixed messages starting to come out from the coaching staff.
I'm most baffled by the decision to drop Nick Davis. He would have caused them all sorts of trouble today alongside Playfair & MOL.

But............who knows anymore.........................!

I'll watch the youngters give their all any day!!

Bring on the Bombers.
Lloyd will kick 8 on Leo. I guarantee you all!!

I cant wait for Brendan Murphy to be ready for the first team. If the AFL experts thought Lance Franklin was good wait until they see this guy.

And no i dont think im overhyping him at all :D

Swans were pathetic. I'm angry and frustrated with the way we played today, particularly some of our older players. Being at the game, I sat next to the opponent's bay... lots of chanting and lots of "protected species" calling. Made my blood boil and didn't enjoy the game at all. Couldn't sustain my excitement in the last quarter though.

Our accuracy for goals are pathetic, woeful and disgraceful. 14.10 to 18.4.

Eh i thought it was one of those games really our side misses shots from 20-25m out, opposition kicks them from the boundary 50m out.

Positives

-Playfair i thought was ok took some marks and tried to be a target up forward
- Moore Jack and Bird continue to improve
- Goodes form seems to be improving was very good in the 4th
- Jarrad McVeigh form is impressive
Forgetting the negatives they are a few big positives. Yes WB beat us today they had our measure and didn give us aot of space to play in. Good for them. Not so good for us. Playfair at least gave us a tall marking forward which was missing in Halls absence. Yes he was inaccurate 1-3(?) but fair go first game back this year I could give him a week or two. You know I think we may have missed a bit of Davis flair this week which is a shame. I was the first calling for his head but perhaps basing it on last week wasnt exactly fair.
Moore wasimpressive today again inaccurate but tough as nails. Thought Jack was quieter today and Bird did some really really great things. Then went quieter at others. McVeigh was patchy at best his first quarter and most of the last were great the middle to a bit meh.

Our midfield went missing pretty much the whole game, bar Goodes. McVeigh had a great first quarter and then seemed to pack it up thinking he'd done his job.

- Matthews was not up to the level he needed to be. Too slow.

- Kicking to the forward line was atrocious.

- Magic just doesn't have it in him to beat the first defender these days. Not his fault though, he shouldn't have to. Barry stuffed us up.

- It's strange to say it, but I think we missed Ablett. He's one of our only midfielders who gets the ball from a clearance and gives it a roost. We tried to handball it out too many times today and turned it over a a result.

- Kicking for goal, was once again, atrocious. You can't afford to miss that many set shots. We'll get away with it against the weaker sides, but the Bulldogs just punished us. They showed every team how to kick today. That should be the standard in the AFL, but sadly it's not. We should do nothing but have goal kicking practice this week. We need to hire a kicking coach.

I need to watch the replay.
You could be right there. I forgot we were missing him today.

Be grateful you have Craig Bolton I wish he was at Collingwood. I went to the game today he was forever trying to organise your defence

We are certainly glad that Brisbane didnt want him as he is a great player. I think Leo Barry isnt the player he used to be and that means the other defenders (especially Craig Bolton) must pick up the slack.

Also just out of curiosity what was a Collingwood fan doing at a Swans v Bulldogs game?

We were the better team all day except for the only thing that matters and thats converting goals:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
I have to disagree with this to a degree.

after the first break we were matched in the packs around bounces by the dogs and guys like Cooney and Boyd had too much run and hit targets out of the middle. I also hate to say it but Eade won the tactical coaching battle and their forward line set up played to their strengths and their opponent at the time weaknesses.

I would like us to play better but were not yet officially at pathetic.. This is the best Bulldogs outfit we've played in a long long time.

The Dogs are a much harder unit now than they've been for a long time.

Having said that, you guys really missed Bazza today...
Truer words were never spoken. Even when the Swans had the momentum they could not score as the Forward Line had no structure and the Forwards were running around like headless chickens. I am of the opinion that if we had Hall we would have won the North Melbourne game and probably would have won todays game aswell.

Even if Barry Hall doesnt get a bagload of goals he always takes the best defender which helps release O'Loughlin and other Forwards. Without Hall the ageing O'Loughlin had to get around the best defender the Bulldogs have.

It's certainly what I noticed. The Swans forward line looked like it was structured around a big-marking, physically imposing target...that wasn't there.

There was a sense of improvisation to it all.

I was intrigued by the big gap between the Swans' good players and the just-going ones,too...that old Sydney team consistency isn't what it was when you ground us down year after year.

Full credit to the Bulldogs they hit back hard in the 2nd Q,we made some bad turnovers and our lack of intencity hurt us today.
The biggest problem is goalkicking, these guys are being paid big bucks as AFL players and carnt convert from 20m out.
In the past we have attacked the bodies of the scraggers and completly shut them down. Why change our game plan,is it media pressure, because we had no pressure on at times today they were the ones that flooded, when we brought the ball in quickly we scored.

LRT had a bad game and probably should be dropped because of it but he wont be dropped as the Swans do not have another tall forward to replace him.

Does anyone know how Peter Faulks is progressing?
Is there something wrong ,when has LRT been a forward RUNVS?
