Adam Goodes slipped over twice at vital moments. Get the right boots on FFS.
Another one who knows nothing about footy
Regardless if he knows anything about footy or not Bedford he is dead right. However some of the shit spoken on this board tonight is f---en laughable especially the ________s who continually pot LRT.Every player should take the blame for that very ordinary performance where we were beaten at the game we pride ourselves on.Not f---en hard enough, smashed at the centre breaks, backman who refused point blank to play in front and blokes who continue to butcher the ball from set shots inside 50.People have questioned Leo Barrys standing as captain over the past 6 months on here well if that performance of Bolton today on Murphy was Captaincy i will go f--- myself. This Rant could go on all night because im that pissed off.Craig Bird will eventually turn into a reasonable player but number 14.Give me a spell.

Ouch!

Should I be glad I didn't watch the game today? :p

Can somebody please remind me - what happened to the Swans in the years between when Plugger left and Hall arrived? Did we suck? Or did we force ourselves to develop a decent forward line? I can't remember, I was too young :(

Stoked about Playfair making his debut for us, I have a good feeling about him, now if only he (and 20 other players) could learn to kick straight...

Thought Playfair did alright today, the backline was average but i would expect that against a smaller faster forward line. Think Barlow, Goodes and McVeigh all played well in patches. Inaccuracy cost us dearly while handballing to a stationary man is also becoming all too common.

The one positive out of the game is that i did not identify anything for which we could be blamed or fined for. However, give it a few days and i'm sure some pathetic nobody journalist will dig up something from last decade to get us back on the back page.

We were ordinary in Rodney Eade last 2 years

2000- 10th
2001- 7th
2002- 12th

Barry hall joined us in 2002 but unfortunely Plugger decided to come out of retirement and both of these players just didn't work in the forward line, it actually was painful watching them spoil each other and it looked embarassing.

Roos took over late 2002 and had a immediate effect which led us to a Prelim in 2003 where we ended up losing to Brisbane by 7 goals.

Playfair needs to be dropped until he can kick properly.

Sorry, but from what I've heard, and what he showed today, it's not going to be good enough. As a forward, you need to be able to kick goals. Look at Buddy Franklin - amazing player, is going to be fantastic, but at the moment his goal kicking is patchy. Luckily enough for him, he still manages to get 10 shots on goal a game. So even if he kicks at 40%, he'll stick kick 4.

Playfair is not going to get those same opportunities. His kicking style seemed to change every single time he had a shot.

I guess it's unfair to just focus on him though. Was shocked that Amon actually managed to kick those goals. It's pot luck with him.

The best thing we could do at this point is hire Plugger as a goal kicking coach.

Right know, i feel that Baz K.O'ing another person could be completely justified at the game today.

Frustrated beyond reason sitting next to the WBD cheersquad and an annoying fat chick in black behind me. If you can't take it, don't dish it out

We are certainly glad that Brisbane didnt want him as he is a great player. I think Leo Barry isnt the player he used to be and that means the other defenders (especially Craig Bolton) must pick up the slack.

Also just out of curiosity what was a Collingwood fan doing at a Swans v Bulldogs game?
2 reasons, swans are my second team given that I live in Sydbey but grew up in Ararat Vic and secondly Craig is my neigbour

Me too I was cringing when he had the ball with a set shot on goal.

As good as Keiran Jack is, he's still young and the guns he is playing on are having too much influence. In the last 3 games:
- Ablett won the game single-handed. Jack was moved off him late.
- Harvey was amongst the roos best
- Cooney destroyed us yesterday

We were all over the moon when he blanketed Kerr, but he hasn't got Kirk's discipline and concentration.

In fairness to Jack, it may not have mattered who was on Ablett that day, and Bevan was no more effective on Cooney.

Something didnt happen early in the 2nd term which made me question if Roos is feeling the pinch from the media and the whingers.

First off we dominated the 1st term and could have been (not should have been) a bit further in front. Doggies looked a bit down and we looked on song. Was very happy with the effort and thought we were on the way to a 6-8 goal win.

2nd term Doggies come out firing, getting the clearances and taking marks 1 on 1 in the forward line. They kicked 3 on the trot in no time. This is were I expected the deep flood to come into play. 2,3,4,5 blokes behind the ball filling the holes. This is how we played in 04, 05 and 06 when West Coast would get on a roll. These are the times when we need to employ the deep flood. I was stunned that we didnt.

We Sydney supporters who watch us week in week out know how we play and what tactics we use. The accusations of flooding are not always correct. Every team does it. Early 2nd quarter was a situation that required the deep flood and we didnt do it. Why? If Longmire is controlling the game plan from the coaches box then he needs to move aside and Roos should take his rightful place.

afl website said:
“So our forward structure is really good, but it is frustrating as a forward when guys are streaming through the middle of the ground kicking to the opposition, or kicking along the ground or kicking into the man on the mark.”
ouch for Jude, at least it wasnt out on the full

twice in a row

I think it's worth remembering that with indifferent form and a weakened side we competed fairly well with two in form teams in the Roos and Dogs, and we went with the standout side of the comp for 3 qtrs which we all agreed was a mostly promising result.

Do we have a LOT of work to do? Yes. But we now sit at the top end of the 10 teams genuinely vying for that 3rd top four spot behind the current frontrunners. And while the result was very deflating we were so close to running over the Dogs it wasn't funny. If Spida had kicked that goal late in the 3rd anything might have happened.

The way I see it the structure is looking far better now than it was when we cobbled a team together for the Cats clash. And if the execution was there we could easily have been top 4 right now. We're not. Nor do we deserve to be. But I still see plenty of upside left in our season.

I really dont think we are pathetic. We made some silly mistakes and our goal kicking let us down otherwise I actually enjoyed the game. I really loved watching the doggies and cant wait to see them play finals footy especially against the likes of Hawthorn and Geelong. Right now im just loking forward to th next game against the Bombers after the break. Aaahhh a day game at ANZ should be a lovely warm winters day.

So, now we're expecting back:

- Baz
- Malch
- Noggy

..plus our out-of-formers who'll no doubt kick into form mid-season

Can't help feeling a bit of nostalgia :p

I think 35 metres is being abit generous as it looked closer to 25 metres to me.

I see players from other teams slot shots from outside the 50 on an angle while being chased but for us, anything further than 30, wider than straight in front or on the run has me biting my nails!
