Swan > Beams in so many ways, but it's just a question of whether Swanny can get back to being that player he was before the injury problems hit late in 2013.

It seems we are managing him well this time around, no real football training till after the new year, but that means he will still have a good 3 full months of training before the delayed season starts.

A fit Dane Swan takes us from a side that may make the 8, to a side that will make it for sure.
Are we talking Brownlow in 2015? If not Beams>Swan.

He was 2 votes off in 2013 wasn't he. Had an injury/sickness filled season this year... who's to say he wont be up there again?
Probably age, given 2014 was the complete drop off. It would be the biggest come back if he was to be up there again in the Brownlow. Most likely he will play and battle but would obviously love to see him back to his 2011 form.

I like Swan and I hope he gets himself fit. It was only a couple of years ago everyone started to question Hodges remaining footy life and look at him now. I'm sure he can bounce back. Although it's a sad reading about him being largely left alone and not talking to others. Possibly a tongue in cheek remark but something's not healthy there regardless , or am I just stating the obvious.

Better luck next year Pies ( but not too much!)

It is entirely tongue in cheek dude. It's a running joke he's been going with for a while now.

My favorite player ever and a ripping bloke to boot.

He WILL return to form this year and show why he is one of the modern day masters.

Champion.

Swan was not on his own in terms of our gun players being cut down by injury in 2014...well to be frank we have had a sh1t run with injury since mid 2011.

If we can get full season's from Swan, Reid and N.Brown there is scope for huge improvement in 2015.

Hopefully Swan can buck the recent trend of our senior blokes limping to the line, and play well into his 30s and give the 300 game milestone a shake

That chump who has hold of Swan is kicking his team-mate in the nuts. Behold the power of Swanny!
Melksham's nuts!

I'll bring in a proven SC theory that many in here will scoff at because it's SC.

Many of us that study DT/SC day in day out in our group understand is that it's more likely a previous premium SC player, who has had a bad year will once again return to his previous form as a gun following that poor season. Usually due to injury but sometimes other reasons.

Swan is a perfect example and he'll be back bigger than ever. I'm backing him big time next year because he is way too proud to end without a bang.

If you were asked to pick just one photo that sums up Swanny's unstoppable brilliance on the football field, this would have to be it.

Glandular fever, hips stuffed, feet buggered, wrists near useless, and no pre-season. Yet with all these legitimate excuses to call on, what does he say..? "Yeah mate, it was putrid...I expect better of myself." Swanny, you absolute legend. Just goes to show that even against all the odds, you can never write this bloke off. Can't wait to see the Great Dane back and firing in 2015.

If injury free, swan will be top 2 copeland and top 6 brownlow.

He seems very committed atm. I think he knows he doesn't have long left

Swanny loves playing footy and he loves The Pies. He will play until the club tells him it's time.

How good is the guy?! Can't wait to even get him back to 50% of what he's capable of.
