It was already in the media by then.

The fact still stands none-the-less... the Giants still went snotty nosed to the AFL/media to dibber dobber and to (one only assumes) negatively impact us... Why else would they do that? It makes no difference if it was already in the media or not... They still went out of their way to chase up something that is completely none of their business.

Its the most bizarre thing ive ever heard honestly they made a GF and we finished bottom 4 yet they still feel so insecure.

In insolation the whole Daniher thing was bizarre from start to finish.
Not to mention the highly unethical behaviour of Carlton in (openly!) courting a contracted player in Papley. I'm all for free movement of players, but you need some enforcement of contracts for the system to work effectively.

And unsurprisingly no outrage to be seen for that one...

Now for my friend Ticky to find this one on SEN this afternoon.
Sheeds was on with Andy Maher and Boring Bob Murphy talking about Goodsey , if anyone bags Kev again you have something wrong up top . It was absolutely brilliant and he was so moved by everything and sums it up with Adam is a beautiful man. Actually shed a tear.

Footy great Kevin Sheedy has declared Adam Goodes was “ahead of most of his fellow Australians when he condemned Australia Day celebrations on 26 January’’.
...
“He was booed to the point that, when he retired, he declined a farewell lap of the MCG in the back of a ute on grand final day,’’ Sheedy said.
“That was a sad moment for our game and the many who have worked to build bridges between Aboriginal people and the rest of the Australia.’
...
“A cultural shift in thinking around Aboriginal issues is only just starting to happen, so when Adam called for Australia Day to be moved to a new date, it didn’t go down all that well,’’ Sheedy said.

“But the people who booed him for that, and for his celebratory on-field war dance, should have known better.

“New Zealanders don’t boo the All Blacks for the haka, they celebrate it.’’
...

No state media support is one of the biggest issues Swans face. There’s no challenge to the Vic based media narrative on a consistent loud basis
I dont think we give a shit about Vic media tbh. Our South supporters will always be south supporters and NSW couldnt give a shit what the Vic media thinks let alone see what they have to say in general. We just do we what do and do it well.

I like how we knew this was closed ages ago but for some reason they pretend it’s recent news
For the sake of maintaining the integrity of the National VFL competition, it's critical that we, The Sydney Swans, are regularly seen to be the villains, in anything that may be mistaken as an ingenious action, by the general Vic football public, which in turn would discredit the recruiting departments of the very Vic teams creating the complaint.

The "loophole" is also barely closed. It only blocks a second swap with the same team, and ONLY if you use a pick gained in the first swap to do the bid matching.

You can swap with two different clubs, and since clubs can swap future picks, this should be easy to route around even swapping with the same team twice.

Geelong, Adelaide and possibly Port are all in a good position to act as brokers, for a fee.
