Wouldn't Tippett still be counted as technically he's still on the list?
Oh he would for sure as a total statistic of the list.

However his placement on our list to our season, future seasons and playing group however make him irrelevant to our list.

Just goes to show exchange an older player for one younger player and you shift 4-6 spots. Makes it a little bit meaningless.

Those “experts” that have stated that we have a gap in the 24-28 bracket which is normally where premiership contenders are strong is on the mark though.

Isn't the critical stat games played rather than age?
Of course there is a strong correlation between the 2.

Well it’s probably more the composition of the brackets or 0-50, 51-100, 101-200, 200+ etc

Averages can be deceiving.

This was my original source (fair correlation but not absolute):
https://m.afl.com.au/news/2018-11-29/oldest-youngest-most-experienced-club-lists-compared

We are 9th oldest according to this but 6th games played and most finals played. You take out Tippett and that would be around 15th oldest, 8th most games.
That is probably quite indicative of the fact we have put a lot of games into our young kids early (most total games played but debutants in past 3 seasons), as well as having a number of veterans dragging the average up.

Look at Essendon, 6th oldest and 2nd least experienced by games played.

We had first call on dates when the fixture was decided last year (which will continue while the SFS is being rebuilt) and will have first call if there is a finals clash between AFL and NRL, unlike at Homebush. But we can't tell the SCG Trust who they can and can't book for use of the ground.

At the very least out of all this we gain a proper training ground by around mid year. Doubt we would of got that otherwise
We are the established, biggest and highest paying client. We have the right to expect that what we pay for is fit for purpose. And a playing surface that is both abused and overused is unlikely to be fit for purpose. Not only will our performance be affected but there is a serious risk to the safety and careers of our players. I am infuriated that we are once again treated barely as an after thought.

Agree. Send your complaints to Alan Jones who is on the SCG Trust and Premier Alphabet.
