We’ve won the 9th most quarters this year. For a team sitting 15th we’ve been competitive in games without being good enough to grab the 4 points.

Given the departures it’s easy to say we will go backwards but most of those leaving have played little football this year.
He might be right , nothing wrong with what he said and if he's wrong , even better.

We don’t need to be much more than marginally better across the year to be pushing up.

Let’s say we win all the games we lost by 10 points or less this year. That would have us sitting us 6th or 7th this season and secured in the top 8 with a week remaining. Take into account we ‘should’ have an easier draw (in theory)...

Great stat with 9th most quarters. I have not seen that.

Lets face it the departures basically happened last year

Injuries permitting that should be a top 8 side or thereabouts, without adding what we do this offseason.
Maybe in 2021 but there's still a few holes in that team.

Next to no midfield depth, no defensive depth, not winning the centre clearance with that team either.

Agreed given Grundy (1), Smith (0), McVeigh (5) and KJack (7 or 8) have played few games this year with rucks Sinclair (14), Cameron (0) and Naismith (0 and 1 NEAFL?) and Franklin (9 or 10)!
The young ones Blakey (20), McCartin (18) and Rowbottom (11) have more games under their belt.
I'm so looking forward to 2020  :sydney:
