thanks Mick.

i found this part interesting

“Your body would have to be in pretty poor nick not to pass the medical, it’s more the scans where things can show through.”
That’s largely what led to Sydney identifying a need for Menzel to have minor groin surgery which will keep him from running for the next six weeks but he hopes to be around the mark for Round 1.
“They saw that I had an instability imbalance in my pubic joint and that’s what was causing my inflammation and pain the last couple of years,” he said.
“I could have trained and played this year without the operation but we I was very happy to have the surgery to take away the pain I’ve had for a couple of years.

so were Geelong unaware of this problem that he had been having for the past couple of years?

It appears that way doesn’t it? TBH, the medical professionals down this way aren’t that flash. I had an MRI that didn’t detect arthritis (or was it the surgeon that didn’t detect?). If you can’t pick up on something that usually sticks out like dogs balls (the arthritis) then how are you expected to pick up on a pubic instability imbalance?

That's pretty poor. Hope they are dealing with the arthritis.

Part of the problem is the high level of specialisation in surgeons, even in a field like orthopaedics. I had a tibia fracture and complained about pain in the knee. They kept taking images of me lying down which showed the tibia was healing well. Eventually I insisted on images being taken while I was standing. They showed bone on bone in the knee and the top screw and plate in the tibia had penetrated the bottom part of the knee. "Oh I see why you were complaining", the surgeon said.

Still we are bloody lucky to be alive now and enjoy the benefits of modern medicine, even when there are screw ups.

I always love articles like the first one. Lynch will add to the tigers to give them the best forward structure while Menzel is depth due to injury, but in the last 2 seasons Menzel has played more games and kicked more goals!

I’m too young for them to deal with it and it’s already grade 3 verging on grade 4. Gee that doesn’t sound like a great experience for you, must say it feels like I have screws in my knees some days!

Stay young Mick!

Tom Lynch is the biggest myth in footy honestly

Coniglio will be a Hawk and I’m not sure we could afford Kelly. He’d have to be one of the highest paid in the comp already surely. But I hope the club does go this route come season’s end. We’ve spent the last few years going to the draft, carefully building a list that should be entering it’s prime from 2020 onwards. Makes all the sense in the world to capitalise on that list by adding a serious gun. Could be the last piece of the puzzle to ensure we’re contenders in the near future.

Good call by Parker today , makes Barrett and Morris look like idiots which they are.
Was just about to post pretty much this.

Throw enough s**t & some will stick. This time though it didn't & they look like the s**t throwing gutter monkeys they are.
