He should have made it into the NSW all time greats side. He did have his opponents looking over his shoulder when he played on the half back flank but not like McVeigh who has them looking over their shoulders as they run past him. A travesty.
I'll ignore your ridiculous assessment of McVeigh's career but yeah l thought Toohey was incredibly unlucky not to make it.

I'm glad he did it through our media & not elsewhere. They can p.ss off as far as I'm concerned. I'll back our player any day. after the way the Vic media have carried on down here. Not one bit of credit for the way we played against a so called contender. They haven't got the ability to address the game as a whole because they geniunely feel the Bombers wo so whatever else we did on the night was irrelevant.
We weren't good , we were just harder on the night , they are crap especially with a low life like Stringer.

Well he didn't. It was gender specific. Its a terrible public presentation for the club by a captain when equal participation by girls and women in the AFL is being encouraged. Nothing to do with social justice warriors whatever the F that is. He has made a totally unconvincing 'apology". He used the 'moment of madness" defense commonly used by flashers, public pests and other idiots in the magistrate courts in regard to what he called his "attempted" climbing of the goal post. Was he going to the top Edmund Hillary style?. Poor effort all round.
Gee wiz. I think I've got my answer 👍

eddeleton didnt own the swans in 92 though?
you can't stay if the club makes no offer
Indeed. the good doctor was imprisoned in 1990 for two years for perverting the course of justice. Instead of offering Bernard Toohey a contract he offered one to Mr Rent A Kill Christopher Flannery to attend to a former disgruntled patient. Maybe he should have offered a contract to Bernard instead to both play for us and chat to the former patient. Toohey was genuinely tough

I’m actually being dead serious. If one thinks using ‘little girl’ as an adjective is disrespectful or offensive, then one must find little girls to be disrespectful or offensive in some way.
Young man, I cant speak about "little girls" but I have certainly found young women to be unrelentingly disrespectful and offensive towards my good self for about the last 30 years.

Yeah he used to love punching forwards in the back of the head didn't he Connolly. Much worse acts than anything Dane Rampe has ever done. But you know, lets hold Toohey in high esteem.

you are right though, club should control all their media

start with the websites, AFL ones are ****

The AFL in some respects is based on a socialist model, the clubs are not truly independent as they have agreed to give up some control in exchange for AFL funding.

It is an imperfect system, but I'm not sure there is a realistic alternative, as I am not sure if some clubs would be able to survive on their own. We still only have $2m of net assets and while things have improved for us off-field in recent years, we don't have the revenue streams that some other clubs do.

true, but the clubs would control more of the revenue themselves if they had more of the control, but then basketcases would run themselves into the ground
