We've lost that advantage and at the same time we've faced free agency and the go-home factor, loss of Cola and the ridiculous trade ban. We've found ourselves in the middle of a perfect storm. By rights we probably should be spooners.

Another club might have taken the opportunity to tank for top draft picks. By contrast, we've been quite purposeful in our drafting/recruitment in the last few years, albeit not every player has paid off (yet). We've shifted to a focus on quicker players, long kicking and more attacking players, even as our game style has also changed to a more attacking one. Maybe I'm glass-half-full on this one but the signs are there if we can just execute better and I expect that will come with experience.

There's a culture at our club that just doesn't accept failure.

Well it did and then we gave Maxfield the Kiber Pass

Reserves reports are very lackluster. Feels like the bare minimum especially considering we cannot watch these matches.

Sydney Swans unselected players pushing for senior selection have put in a strong performance in a scratch match against Greater Western Sydney on Sunday afternoon.

In comparison the Giants write ups highlight 10-15 players and write a line on each of them. Can't be that hard to get someone to watch the game and report how the reserves are going

I can't speak for the Swans media team...but I know the Giants media team weren't impacted by the COVID situation. All of them kept their jobs.

But agree with above...our reserves report/s are so dire compared to the Giants'. Just two players mentioned in ours compared to individualised paragraphs for each player.

The Giants get what their fans want and provide it.

The Swans don't.

realistically how hard is it to put a decent report in, would take less than hour to write something up, they can make it up for all I care but give us members/fans something to read and think about.

If your going to write AFL articles on a major news publication website, at least learn the players positions.
