Round 1 2020 Adelaide in Adelaide = No importance what so ever.

Round 23 2019 @ SCG against The Champions of Mediocrity St Kilda = Wheel Buddy out in a Wheelchair for our Cash Bonanza.

Lucky to see him a dozen times in 2020. ****ing indecision and handling of his injuries the last 3 years is pathetic.

Collingwood had an open forum of their members with club hierarchy put under the blowtorch over the amount of soft tissue injuries. The handling of Franklin's injuries need a ****ing royal commission.

Cmon WW, if he's fit he plays. He's an old man in this game, best years are gone, we all knew this going to happen but hoped he'd be a freak and defy the odds like a few in the game. Wasn't on this board when the contract happened but strongly disagreed with its length; been worth it, don't know TBH but he has given me a lot of great times. Recent occurrences have changed my view on life, love the swans, always will but in the greater scheme of things it's just a game, where one team wins the big one and every other team doesn't.

Conversations with Cal is excellent this week. Parker & Reid guests and over all the show was informative and funny. Some great stories in there.
One of the funniest things I've listened to recently. Really good to hear players talking naturally as opposed to the stilted interviews you normally hear in the media. Highly recommended.

Horse spoke well.
Gave an insight as to why Mills plays predominantly as a back man. Simply because of his smarts.
Blakey will play some midfield time which seemed to surprise Tim Watson.

I think we are in good hands going forward.

Don't you just love Horse?:D

I doubt will see buddy before half way mark
Even if he plays he will be stuck deep forward & be less mobile as a game wears on.
He's always a danger out there but he is a bigger threat when up the ground & surging forward towards goal on the run.
Unfortunately as a 33 year old that has been injured for the last 3 years, it's unlikely that we will see him doing that anymore, throughout a whole match in consecutive weeks.

Hard to argue unfortunately

The differences between someone 26 and 33 aren’t as stark as you may think especially if solid fitness platform is established. He should still be able to ‘surge forward on the run’. Rather the differences lie in susceptibility to soft tissue strains and tears.......hence the importance of establishing that high level fitness platform stretching etc which coincidentally was the cause of his recurrence hamstring tear last year. The more soft tissue strains and tears of course also ultimately influence fitness because they impair capacity to establish platform. imo this scenario is exactly why they want to see good fitness platform before he plays again so he can have best chance to perform. Buddy seemingly has put in a huge effort to establish that platform early. I remain confident that we will continue to see him perform to high standards this year. The risk is soft tissue injury. We hope.

susceptibility to soft tissue strains and tears.
Unfortunately this increases with anyone 30 years old onward.
Just how it is & Buddy has a poor 3 years behind him so he doesn't fall into the category that has me being more positive about his remaining 3 years.

I hope I'm wrong so that you can personally hammer me on here at year's end & again when he's career is over. At least we will both be happy.

Even in his 30’s he still rolled out 24 games in 2017 and 19 in 2018. The 19 equals his output when he was playing in his early 20’s. Last years was his worst return spanning his career with soft injuries plaguing him.

It will be interesting to see how the last three years of his contract run out. No doubt plenty of articles to opine on whether the deal was a success or not.

Wouldn’t surprises me if he still shows up and performs to a high standard. That’s what made him the player he was. Age is a factor but not a rubber stamp to define a career.
