Now, I usually think Damo is a useless tool, but I think he hit the nail on the head for once in his career. Must be his broken clock moment.

I can't help but think that there's a final chapter to be written in Buddy's career. I'd hate to see the second half of his career go (ultimately) unrewarded, I just feel as though he has (at least) one last hurrah left in his career.

I'm sure these conversations are happening within the 4 walls of the clubs, perhaps not as a key message within the team as a whole, but surely players and individuals within the club have spoken about the door being wide open in 2022, and that if everyone focuses on their roles for the remainder of the year, and stay locked into the contest over the 4 quarters, in each game for the remainder of the season, that we put ourselves in a position to snatch the flag.

And I've heard in countless interviews over the years how much Buddy has contributed to the team both on and off the field and has helped others develop their games. Surely as a playing group they'd have thought it would be great to win a premiership alongside one of the greatest players to ever play the game.

IF ...

you're writing off this team's premiership hopes ...

THEN ...

stop it. Has got the right mix – good spine, dynamic midfield, points of difference in the forward line. And there's another massive chapter to come, somewhere, in the Buddy story.

and given it was a good one by Damo, I'll even link to his article.

Pretty spot on in the Essendon assessment too.

It is annoying. If they say we're good, or we're absolute s**t, I don't really care, but at least acknowledge we exist and we're not just there to give or take four points from the clubs they're interested in.
We are now being described as a sleeper moving into the top 4 … no one noticed us hahaha.

Always felt he'd be CEO one day but didn't think he'd be in discussion just yet

We still have a long way to go before we threaten anyone for a premiership - and Parker deserved a better game from his team mates.

Lol. I tipped this years ago. Charley Corporate to step up to Swans CEO.

During the members webinar I asked a question which was worded something like “While I love the work you are doing at the Swans Tom, if hypothetically you ran for AFL CEO, what would be the first thing you would address with regards to the northern states. The question was sanitised down to how are things progressing in regards to football in NSW.

He will give the Nthn States nothing. He has been angling for this job for years. I do not recall him rattling the AFL's cage. That said he would prolly do a reasonable job. Hopefully he would be a massive upgrade on Lord Vesty Gil

Finally made the 9 things you learn and it was a positive after a poor result.

8. The Chad's ceiling is a long way off

Chad Warner keeps getting better and better. On a day where most of John Longmire's side was out of sorts, the 21-year-old enhanced his reputation at the MCG against Essendon. The West Australian collected 25 disposals, 13 inside 50s – the fourth most in a game this season – 10 score involvements, seven clearances, three goals and 727 metres gained. It wasn't just the numbers. Warner was devastating by foot in the attacking half, creating plenty of scoring chances on a day where Sydney didn't take its their chances. The Swans have some of the most exciting young talent in the game right now, and Warner is one of their best. - Josh Gabelich

No need to refer to him as the West Australian and remind WCE and Freo..
