Out of interest, do the coaches and players get paid for their participation in these radio/TV/internet segments, or is it part of their promotional obligations?
I for one certainly don't know. Directly after a game & in the rooms probably not.

Perhaps head over the Media threads and ask, they'll probably have a better idea.

Not sure what the deal is at other clubs including ours, but I know at Fremantle the players have media commitments attached as a factor into their contracts. The club negotiates it with players who will have larger roles in the media. So TV interviews, print interviews, radio interviews - all written into their contracts, which is why some players will feature in several interviews throughout the year whilst others will feature in none. The exception is club-driven media, such as pre or post-game interviews, press conferences etc. conducted by their own media team. They are unpaid and are done voluntarily, typically at the club's behest as they're a player the club will see as a leader and/or someone they want to feature in the media.

No idea how we run though.

Runaway victory. Two and half times more votes than the AA captain.

But I'm getting in first to complain about how the Swans academy has runied this once-great award. Diggers didn't die on the Kokoda Track just so clubs could train young footballers.

Yeah basically it's written into players contracts, well most. They have x amount of media commitments per season, not including ones directly related to game day for eg post match interviews.

Horse was interviewed on SEN Sydney this morning , i think with Andrew Voss
Sorry segment 10 mins long, not sure where Longmire starts
Andrew Voss joined Gerard for 'Across the Divide' where they discussed Penrith's decision to rest multiple players in Round 25, the likelihood of a pre-finals bye in the NRL, the opening of Allianz Stadium, his interview with John Longmire this morning, the lack of cut through from the BBL Draft in Sydney, and more.

Nuggetz has the correct link :)
