He's not wrong

If we get the Towers, Jones, Ling, drafts right we're a dynasty and not looking at Stephens or McDonald because we're not picking that high. Konstanty was a massive waste and Sheldrick needs to prove himself this year or will also be a bust.
I feel it needs to be pointed out again, that many of our first round picks of the last two decades are outside what a first round would be in a pure draft and yeah, there have been some misses like Ling, but the picks we've taken in those areas haven't been wildly out of line with what the average of the picks around that part of the draft are.

Is Jones the only one you mentioned in that first group who wasn't taken after pick 15? Add in Konstanty and Sheldrick for that matter.

We've all said it many times on this forum. Who the author supports is irrelevant. Hell, he could literally be one of us.
Jones far from a bust. Played 164 games despite injury plaguing him both with the Swans and Saints. Overcame a couple of bad concussions with us and played a fair bit of good footy with as a Swan, including 2016 finals series.

in actual fact of those mentioned ling is the only real disappointment and even he was cruelled by injuries.

Towers was pick 22. before him at 20 was tim broomhead then nathan hrovat then after him was marco paparone, spencer white and nathan wright. In fact arguably there were only two players taken after him who werent tied to clubs that had better careers, these being tim membrey who we did pick and mason wood. Tom clurey had a similarish career

our first round picks havent actually been that terrible. Ling bad luck. Stephens was the wrong choice and for the wrong reason. Sheldrick i have my doubts over but even he could still be a good player

We just havent had a lot of really early picks and of the ones that we had we effed stephens up.

Robbo.
Only two things I thought were a bit out of whack were that ie Robbo as potential A grade when Grundy, Mills and Papley were rated B and he ignored our 2025 injuries in predicting us to finish 7-12. Over 60% predicted we would finish top 6. Otherwise it was a pretty good article.
Was an average article up to the point where he come out with that proclamation. Laughable. Potential A Grader ? Lloyd wants to wait until the bloke becomes a decent C Grader before he starts throwing out pearls of wisdom like that one. No wonder he is no longer at Carlton. Having said that I suppose you can excuse his judgement being clouded considering he was used to watching hack kick ball butchers.

Episode 1 of the "Reconditioning" series with Bill Knowles

As aSwans fan I am disgusted my club acted this way. Both Leon Cameron and Dean Cox can **** off now if they are going to ruin our club. Turning it into a Corporate Meat Market and Abattoir. Our club relies on it's great ethical record and this is a huge blight on this. Curnow is not that good that Cox and Cameron have to ruin our club to get him.

These two individuals are now on notice from fans. No premiership next year move both on.

Are you seriously suggesting they shouldn’t try to better the club by bringing top class players into the fold?

If you’re upset by the ‘tone’ of the message delivered to both, then perhaps you, like them, need to harden up a bit.

It’s a billion dollar business - and hard decisions have to be made - over short time spans.

And no, I don’t want Cox or Cameron to put a sook and a flakey half forward before the success of the club.

I wouldn't be surprised if Will and Ollie are a bit embarrassed now by the way this has been reported.
I was just thinking this whole thing is probably blowing up far more than they expected. Welcome to a big Melbourne club, first lesson learned.

This is an article quoting another article that used an opinion of one of the players as click bait. At no time in either article was there an actual quote of what Cox said.
Your response is EXACTLY what the article was aiming for.

Why would they be embarrassed. These were two players who wanted to stay at the Swans but we're unceremoniously dumped. They were bullied into going. WE DON'T WANT YOU. Sounds a lot like something Cox would say. Cameron was a bit more subtle but the message was the same. GET OUT

How very Psychopathic of you. Gen X are we?

Curnow is not THAT good to risk the. integrity of the group. If you run your business this way you will eventually go broke

You are saying that Cox actually said "We don't want you"? You need to read the article again.

Getting emotional about something doesn't make you right about it.
There are various stages of grief.
You are in one of the earlier ones.

I understand your frustration with how the whole thing was conducted. I do.
I liked Will as a player and a person. Florent we have similar players to play his role.

We have improved KPF.
We have improved KPD.
We have improved small forward.

We have some highly rated Academy players in the draft which will fill HB, Mid and maybe fwd. Plus rookies.

If the draft works out I think we will have improved our list. Rookies hopefully too.

Improving your list at this time of year is what it is all about.

Wolfy, I know you are better than this.

Probably 95% of all players get that same message at some stage of their careers. They are either delisted, traded, or suggested that they retire. These two are no different except that Ollie made the mistake of processing some of their emotions to a reporter. They will learn from that.

The author has the same superficial analysis as some Swans fans.

No mention of injuries re: Ling and to a lesser extent Sheldrick. The Green section was just to further his crack at the club, devoid of substance.

Well summed up - and I’m certainly not responsible for IT or the AFL trading system 😆

Love this. Specialised in rehab. In the past, he's helped sportsmen such as Tiger Woods, Alex Rodriguez, Andy Murray, Peyton Manning, Jonny Wilkinson, Frank Lampard and Nic Naitanui return at elite level.
