Pretty good attempt Charlie, however you're not quite there. From my records, I've counted 20 and from your list of 17, Cook and Ahmat didn't get a nomination, nor did Dempster. So there's 5 more to go (including a premiership player!)

Cook got a nomination in 1997.

The premiership player is Ben Mathews. I forgot him.

The other four are going to be more challenging. Daniel McPherson might be one - round 18, 1996 strikes me as familiar for some reason. Andrew Schauble got one for Collingwood, now that I think about it. I think Ryan O'Connor might have for Essendon as well. I don't have a strong inkling for the last one but I'll guess... Rowan Warfe?

Sorry, yes Cook did get one, I must have missed him while researching this question. You got Benny, Frosty, Schaubs and Rhino but Warfey wasn't one.
Hint: The last guy is the only one is who received a nomination after playing for Sydney (and from what I can see was JUST eligible for the nomination)

Anthony Rocca?

Yes it was Licuria. He was eligible by 3 days (birthday on the 4th Jan) and had played exactly 10 games for the Swans.

Also note Simon Hawking was nominated while playing in Fitzroy, but never played a senior game for us. He was traded to us along Brent Green for the pick that netted Simon Black :(

Well done and over to you Charlie.

Kent Butcher also spent a year on the list without playing a senior game. He was nominated whilst at Collingwood.

On to the question. Let's go all the way back to the pre-VFL days. South Melbourne's most famous player in the late 1880s through to the mid 1890s did play VFL football, but not for South. It was said that children in South Melbourne would say the following prayer each night: 'God bless Mummy, God bless Daddy and God bless'... who?

Sorry to jump in Ert, but I ran across a couple of Swans questions on another board and I thought they were great.

What was Derek Kickett's excuse for arriving late for the 1995 regular season game against the Cats at the SCG?

His dog ate his guernsey? :p

Was it that he couldn't find a carpark because of the Royal Easter show?
The answer I had was he didn't anticipate the increased traffic at Moore Park because of the Royal Easter Show. Good enough.

OK, one from the same period

Tony Lockett kicked 6 goals in his first game for the Swans against Footscray in 1995, before missing the next two games injured.

During Plugger's absence, one teammate surpassed his effort by kicking a bag of 7, and another equalled it by kicking a bag of 6.

Who were the two Swans players who had overtaken Lockett on the goalkicking table after Round 3?

Ok. Name all of the Swans' Hall of Fame inductees from the period 1897 onwards. Do not include players like Len Thompson and Dermott Brereton who spent only a very short part of their careers at the Swans, but do include any player who played more than 50 games for the club.

Come on, 'tis not that hard! ;)

A hint. There are seven Brownlow Medallists, and seven non-Brownlow Medallists.
