Heh. Perhaps not surprising - he would have folllowed Roberts Walls down there I guess.

My question then. Which former Swan, who achieved no other major distinctions in his career, kicked eight goals in a match against Sydney in 1995?

he did not exit correctly through the interchange gates and was not permitted to return to the ground

In a bizarre coincidence exactly the same thing happened to Richmond's David Bourke in the same match

Actually, the two events were related:
From Tim Murphy's match report

(Over)zealous Swan officials spotted that Bourke didn't leave
the field through the designated interchange area (by about 20 cm) and
pointed this out to the "interchange steward". As a result, Bourke
wasn't allowed back on for the rest of the game. Somewhat aggrieved
Richmond officials got O'Loughlin under the same dopey rule in the
third quarter.

Your question Ert.

(Oh yeah, Rocket gave Micky O one of the best sprays ever).

What "distinction" did Jude Bolton, Jason Ball and Paul Roos share on 2005 GF afternoon?

Between them, the coach and 22 players of 2005's premiership team had played under how many premiership coaches (excluding Paul Roos)?

Davis, Williams and Ball played under Malthouse.

Bolton and Williams both played under Matthews

Richards played under Sheedy

Hall played under Blight

Roos played under Walls and (I think) Parkin

Pretty sure none have played under Pagan or Williams.

So I reckon 6?

I wonder how many players have played under 3 premiership coaches (ala Williams). Pike may well have done but there can't be too many in recent history.

You have the number right, Liz, but not the six coaches in question. Ted Richards isn't a member of the 2005 flag, and none of the premiership players played under Sheedy. However Paul Roos, Michael O'Loughlin and Leo Barry played under Ron Barassi, so that makes six.

On the three premiership coaches thing, Blake Caracella has played under Malthouse, Matthews and Sheedy. Roos of course played under three. John Blakey played under Walls, Parkin and Pagan. I wonder if anyone has played under four?
