If you are talking about the MCG, i believe that goes right back to the 1920;s

South Melbourne defeated Carlton in the 1909 grand final by two points.
What achievement was significant about the Bloods' victory?

Yes Chubb, it was our first flag, but there is something else about it - something that happens only about once every 50-odd years.

They were playing Carlton, who were trying for their 4th premiership in a row?

Charlie is right but that wasn't what I was looking for.
Chubb, you are spot on.

Carlton won premierships in 1906, 1907 and 1908 and South Melbourne cut them short at the four-peat to win our first flag.
The only other club to do that is Port Adelaide, which won its first flag while stopping Brisbane Lions' four-peat in 2004.
The other incidence was when Collingwood beat Melbourne in 1958, although that wasn't the Magpies' maiden premiership.

Well done.
Your question.

I am going to do a "Who am I?"

  • Traded from Richmond
  • Started as FF but starred in the ruck
  • 9 BOG votes in one year
This is probably a simple question but my knowledge of the Swans really only starts with my first year of membership - '99. So I know nothing of this bloke :o

Not sure if Kirky's departure was exactly "voluntary" & I think he headed back to Albury (altho he studied in Wagga didn't he?).

The only other recent Swans chap with a Wagga connection that I know of (besides the Hero of Wagga of course) is Brad Seymour?
