Because it's a vent thread, we'll be a little more lenient than in other threads, however normal BigFooty rules apply and we reserve the right to delete posts that are pointless bitching or covering things that have been done to death in this, and other threads.

Here to vent and discuss.

Not a mod but I am hoping trolls and opp supporters realise that they will be met with prejudice for a bit.

Firstly congratulations to Hawks, we were out played.

Now lets have a look at the game.

Cut up in middle.

No man on man play

Poor I 50 entries

Midfield thumped

At the end of the day I am really disappointed. Worst game played by Swans I have seen. No pride in the jumper out there. Let's hope it puts the fire in the bellies next year.

Vent/rip a part

What a dreadful un-Sydney like performance. Midfield just didn't turn up today. There was no intensity. Physically smashed. We were soft.
I hate that saying. It was a Sydney like performance as that is how we played against GWS, Richmond (the first game) and Melbourne as well. We do it too many times for it to be a un-Sydney like performance.

Shit effort from a decent team. Of everyone on the list, I feel worst for ROK. He would have actually had a crack if he'd been given a game.

The last thing we need to do is make panicked decisions, it hurts like **** but some perspective needed, we can and will turn it around in 2015,
Let it hurt, but don't let it lead to the wrong reaction or poor decisions, we have a great base, we came 2nd, far and away a better place than most other teams,
We'll be back!

If there are no mods around, and you get trolled, call me out in a post and I'll deal with it.

Not what you want after a grand final loss.
Cheers grizzly.

After you guys scorched us, think the players did the trolling. But we really don't need dickheads adding to it.

Hahaha swannies fans, chin up hold your head high we will be back don't worry!
This is not a time for chins up. This is a time for serious soul searching and reflection. What is the bloods culture about? We need to show what our club is about next season. It is just so important we do. Won't happen unless we keep our heads down today and really let the gravity of this performance sink. To really appreciate just how poor a performance this was.

Our super midfield was absolutely annihilated. Our defence had no chance with the barrage they had to deal with.

There is a tomorrow. We need to learn our lessons. This can not happen again.

Of course I am not saying we should be proud of the perfomance. But I can assure you the team behind the doors will chop a few heads after this.

Can someone please explain how we lost?

Can't be coaching, because we have the coach of the year.
Can't be workrate or effort, because we have bloods culture and McVeigh said everyone was fired up
Can't be skills because our skills sucked in 2012 and it wasn't a problem

Mitchell needs to be best 22 and not overlooked for constantly for someone with slightly quicker leg pace but much less ability. Need an extra clearance player, this is the one area that constantly lets us down when we play like shit. We already have that player on the list, use him.
Bigger KD, maybe Reid becomes that player, genuine small forward needed too. Maybe positional changes, rather than dramatic list changes. Don't throw the baby out with the bath water, but we need to work on a lot of areas.

Unfortunately the nature of the loss is hugely damaging, going to really have to defy a lot of recent history to get back here again. Huge task ahead. Must be close to the biggest defeat by a Minor Premier ever, long way back from here. More so the mental side than actual ability, we know most of those guys have got much better performances in them than what they showed today. For whatever reason a lot of them didn't seem to turn up, maybe a bit too pleased with themselves just for making a grand final?

Terrible, terrible performance. Worst of the season, including the GWS game. Hawthorn were always, in my mind, a more dangerous and consistent team, but they were something special today. Doesn't take away from our sheer ineptitude today though.

I was going to say "let us never talk of this afternoon again" but I think we need to; there are some serious cracks in our team, an an over reliance on players like Franklin and Tippett that might work some times, but can't work in the end.

Some of you guys need to have a long hard look at yourselves. Whilst I'm as disappointed as the next person, our team has given us many years of pleasure and great performances. It was a poor performance today, but we were beaten by a better team on the day. We had a fantastic year and I expect us to come back bigger and better next year. I'm still an extremely proud Swans supporter. Time to drown the sorrows.

This game was seen in round 18, a game where we were four goals up against a team with litherland playing on buddy and Gibson on Tippett and they still kicked eight goals basically in a row.

And despite that many on here thought we were a shoe in.

In both games when they got on top they scored at will. The pressure they bring from behind the ball, as well as our handball to a man standing still strategy crushed our defence. The panic we had bringing it out from deep in our defence happened in round 18 and again today.

Let's be clear, while I think Reid was poor this game was lost from half back to half forward. Inside mids crushed, outside we're just obliterated half backs panicked. Why we kept playing one spare at the back when we were getting crushed I don't know.
