personally, paul kelly should've been somewhere
i dunno how he stacks up against players pre-75 or so, but of the footy i've seen, kelly was special
yes, there's bias involved, but even non-swans fans recognise what a remarkable player and leader he was

I thought Kelly could've been in there, at least he was on the just missed out list.
I do not agree with Dunstall being ahead of Lockett, i have this argument a lot with my hawthorn mate and i don't see how Dunstall could be rated higher. Also i would've liked Chimp Skilton a little higher but i can't really complain with the list overall too much from a Swans perspective...although, W. Capper was absent...;)

- Skilton should of been towards the Top 5, 11th was too low.
- Kelly I wouldn't have in the Top 50 of all time but he certainly earnt the Top 150 spot he got.
- Dunstall and Lockett both shouldn't be so high and from there its really a coin toss who you put ahead of the other. I say Lockett would be ahead because he kicked more goals and did so in poor side early on, before successful sides meant he finally got the help he deserved and Dunstall had his entire career.
- Laurie Nash was a BIG obmission from the Top 50, one of the greatest CHF's of all time and people still fail to acknowledge him in the proper way.
- If Cousins was good enough to make the Top 50, why not Adam Goodes?(who wasn't considered for the Top 150 because he is still playing and too far away from his playing career ending)
- Carey at Number 1 was just stupid. Yes he was good BUT he wasn't that good. Matthews should of been Number 1.

Being only 28 it's very hard for me to judge it overall but my main gripe is that there are too many players from the modern era too far up the list. Mike Sheehan said that he chose Carey at number 1 because he saw him dominate more games than anyone else. This makes the whole idea of having a top 50 of all time just stupid to begin with. Why should a player be placed ahead of others due partly to the fact that he had actually watched them play?

It's something thats just impossible to do and no matter how many times its done or how many different people offer their opinion, someone is going to be undeservedly overlooked or undervalued. I'm really not a big fan of these lists but they do seem to drum up a bit of conversation and no doubt sell a few papers.

I should also add: From what my old man has told me about Skilton and what I have heard from other sources he definately should have been higher than 11.
