It's going to be a long season and we will have plenty of opportunities to criticise the 'depth' of our list when we have some bad games.

Phew, I was getting worried for a moment there. After the weekend Swans game i thought i might only be left with Tottenham and Mourinho to rant about....

The speed and precision of our ball movement was definitely aided by Brisbane's lack of effort which was stark imo. But that doesn't discount that we've got a real band of runners and distributors now. Blakey, Dawson, Gulden, Campbell, Rowbottom, Papley, Wicks, and Heeney to name only a few play fast and are really nice by foot. Even guys like Cunningham and Rampe play fast in the right contexts. Heeney's goal which included Papley, Gulden, and Hickey in the lead-up was incredibly slick and if we're given space that appears the kind of play we're going for.

I'm so glad he's finally been solidified in what to me has always been his ideal position in the back pocket as a lockdown defender. He doesn't have the natural confidence (imo) to be a ball-playing, running HF or wingman - partially because I think it has been coached out of him while his defensive skills have taken greater priority. But that suits him to shutting down the best small forwards perfectly. There aren't many small forwards who would beat Harry for pace and he's a strong bugger for his size too. And clearly has great concentration from his days tagging where he'd routinely take out Isaac Smith et al. For a while I think Cunningham was protected by Longmire and didn't deserve his place in the side but he's just about first picked every week now and justifiably so.
I always rated Cunningham highly. He just needed to find his niche. His speed and attack are electric. I laughed when he rag-dolled Daniher, tossing him to one side like he was a light-weight, while all Joe could do was cry to the umps. I can't stand players whining. If they think they've been hard done by they should replay the 2016 GF, watch Hanners get his legs taken out, half-crippling him while the offender got the free. Honestly, I'm not still bitter (much)

If you're all worried about what gender neutral term to use when addressing someone just do what I do and greet them like this.

"Hello Citizen. "
That's being geocist, not everyone lives in a city. As a countryzen I demand you use another term ?

I won't accept Person any more than Perdaughter.

Perpeople ?

What about "Hello" as I assume a person is reading the post?

He seems to pick the smaller players well but falls short on key position players. Hopefully his strike rate changes there
He left Naughton as a parting gift to the Bulldogs. From memory the story was Dalrymple left because he and Beveridge disagreed about Billy Gowers. Given Gowers was delisted, if true Dalrymple might've been correct.

When Dalrymple was Sam Mitchell's junior coach he went out of his way to contact the list managers when there wasn't much interest. Like Beatson, he has an eye for underrated talent. On the weekend a couple of his picks shone for us, Rowbottom and Warner. The key forward looked ok as well.

Perhaps Cameron got not going?

Despite Cameron stating in the press before the game:
He not only wants to help Brisbane to a first premiership in 18 years, but also to reclaim his mantle as the best small forward in the AFL.
"I want to get back to that," Cameron told AFL.com.au.

I think at half time Cameron had either 1 or 2 disposals. After half time they put him on the ball and any influence he had on the game was when he was onball. So no influence at all as a small forward.

Papley spent most of his time forward because Mills went to the mids and Hewett returned.

I’d called for Hickey’s immediate delisting 4 minutes into Q1.

I wanted him hauled off the ground & escorted to the Brisbane domestic terminal with instructions to clear out his locker at Moore Park.

In hindsight, I may have been a tad hasty.
Oscar McInnerney is an awkward character to play on. I could see Hickey trying to avoid being roundhoused be Oscar's awkward elbows. He was summing Oscar up as to the best way to play him. Eventually he opted to be very athletic against him and even become another mid when Oscar won the ruck. He was SMART! SMART! SMART!
