Horse tried to turn a mid into a back and it didn't work. Ollie tried hard but he is a mid. If we let him go he will find a REAL coach who knows how to win Premiership and will be played as a mid and win a premiership.

Players run around everywhere though at the end of the day so sometimes saying oh he was back versus midfield kind of means **** all, he is in the play enough and of late he is ****ing woeful with it far too often. At some point the player is just not good or out of form . He has to go back and show what he can do

Well we can't accuse Cox of playing favourites with Florent being dropped. I don't really rate Mitchell either, but it's an important statement to make.

I actually thought Florent had mostly been solid since his poor start to the year, which is evidently an unpopular opinion. But he was demoted to sub and then poor last week, so at least Cox is being consistent.

Hamling is at least playing a role. McLean is the one I don't understand. Dropped and was hopeless in the reserves. Then gets a reprieve when a case could have been made to select Buller and was hopeless in the AFL.

In fairness I don't think Buller makes it regardless, but at this point it's more the principle of selecting someone that doesn't deserve while Buller has at least been solid in the VFL.
Hamling's role is crap. It is a negative move. We need players who can kick a goal. The idea is to score more than our opponent you know. I don't think cox knows this.

So far cox has only proven one thing. He is stupidly stubborn I blame Horse for this. Horse played so many players out of their preferred positions, positions they excelled at in juniors, that Cox thought to do the same. It's not working. Change it. How about some positive game plan the player can adjust to and a plan that suits the boys on the park?

Cox has his L plates on and if we're undefeated i'd say the same thing, he hasn't proven anything. He is developing .

You declared Cox as brilliant pre season then after a game we were going to be 0-7 and now he is useless , it's been a journey. Glad I don't work for you just some random shifts below

Hopefully this gives him the kick up the arse he needs as I don’t believe he’s playing the best football he’s capable of (for long periods at a time)and maybe that’s come as a side effect of being an automatic inclusion for years now.
You don't post enough , always sensible

You just made my laptop run out of space wow

But he wasn't the worst. He is not a real defender and he gets to play on the best small forward in the game after Wicks is injured. Cosy kicked 3 on Florent. McLean still gets a game. Hamling had 5 disposals. Rowie had 12, one less than Ollie. Campbell had 9. Corey Warner had 10. To tell you the truth none of them would get a game this week if we were a good side. Not even Rowie, who is normally so good. But you can't get good disposal rates if the coaching is shite, and it is.

I don't agree. He is good depth.

For what? He literally doesn't play ahead of two guys who are rookie listed , one of whom had never kicked a goal for 98 AFL games.

Buller is just list clogger right now.

Florents had a poor year, I thought most of the side was shit last week and yeah my toys out of the cot reaction is to drop half of them. But I am angry fan on a couch luckily.

Florent wasn't dropped just because of last week, he has been a problem for a while , since he signed at least

Cannot explain why, but got a funny feeling for this match.

On paper you should be tipping Adelaide, they are fit, in form and have full personal (You can make an argument that we are missing 8-9 of our best 22).

Our forward line is a shamble currently with very very limited options up front.

Midfield is too reliant on Heeney/ Warner.

Defence looks far more solid with Melican back, but lack of smalls really hurts.

But got a feeling we will get a statement this week, these are the types of games we generally always played well in the Longmire era.
Was going to post similar ,just have a funny feeling about this GO SYDNEY SWANS please show us you can be Bloods again

Hamling's role has worked well in some games, but needs some others around him to take advantage. At the moment he has McLean (out of form) and Ladhams.

He's needed in defence this week, but if we did persist, the smart thing would have been to replace McLean with Buller and play Heeney forward more so we might have players to take advantage.

Florent plays twos. for 3 weeks , we drop a few games and everyone here will remember him as a superstar.
This is a good thing for him, nothing raises a Swans players stock like not playing in the team .

Of course, coaches are known for always making the correct call at selection.

He started up with great moves. New moves. But has now reverted to Horse's game plan

Hamling's role is fine when our pressure and tackling is up and our midfield fires. Not sure our midfield at the moment is up to doing this consistently.

I think Ollie will absolutely tear it up in the twos, he is too good for that level. Can see him dominating

Having said that him and a few others need to pull their fingers out and a few VFL games are probably necessary

Don’t disagree.

I would just point out that Cleary, Gus & Corey need to be more than depth.

They need to be best XXIII.

Because by the time you’re 4-5 years on the list, if you ain’t best XXIII, you’re becoming a list clogger.

I think Cleary and Sheldrick are best XXIII.

I think the jury is still out on Corey.

Thats a fair point, although it never hurts to have players on the fringe like Corey who wouldn't be on big money put pressure on the regular senior players. Cleary I'm most bullish about given it's only his 2nd season, him and Sheldrick have shown enough improvement this year particularly when you take the fact Sheldrick missed a good chunk of last year into account.
