Precautionary measure. He passed the fitness test on his knee but we needed to lose someone to accommodate JPK's return. No point playing Newman under an injury cloud when you have the perfect excuse to give him an extra week's rest.

Yeah I've sort of come around from cursing Horse for 2 hours about it last night. It makes sense to give Newman a week or two break to refresh him.

Still not the time and place to take a dartboard shot whether he'd last a game. Plus if he gets injured again that's his season. Back next week for the Carlton game.

Adelaide Oval playing surface copes with rain exceptionally well anyway, even if it rains during the game it doesn't seem to cause major problems.

Since the upgrade it's got tremendous drainage. Probably the best in the country for removing water quickly IMO.

Without Naisy I reckon he'll be mostly in the middle with big Sauce though. If they throw Sinkers onto Sauce I hope Tip can slot a few "resting" up fwd.
