Yeah, Crowell need to come in as I picked him to start in round #3. ;) Seriously though with Carey & Burton out & Bode in, on the SCG we should be looking for a medium utility type. ie Either Massie or Crowell. It will be a close call.

'But if Stevo doesn't play - I'm not sure even I believe my next suggestion - but should we play Schell in the pocket instead of Rutten due to his greater experience??"

macca23 r u feeling alright?????? :p

Yeah, I thought that would wake you up Stiffy. :D

But it could happen. Crowell could also be a chance. Or Hentschel. Or Rutten.

Experience at AFL level could favour Schell or Crowell.

He's not KPP, I know, but we still have Perrie up forward.
On the SCG we are better off with one less KPP (ie Carey) than last week, but if Stevo doesn't pull up, then I think we need another tall.

It doesn't really worry me if Schell plays. I was just picking with the mentality "We know what Schell can do, lets see what a youngster can do". I wouldn't be surprised if Marsh gets a recall as a tall forward on the FF line. Apparently Marsh was very good at directing the ball to his midfielder in SANFL. he had 23 hitouts and 9 disposals. The inclusion of Marsh can free Biglands to FF. This could be very damaging especially since Swans wouldn't have anyone tall enough or string enough to match up on Biglands at FF.

Thoughts??????

I would like to see Hentschel, but if you guys don't think he is ready unfortunately Schell needs to be picked. IMO, from what I have read though, Hentschel has had a good couple of week in the SANFL, which is more than what Benny Hart had done as 17 yo!

or Marsh:eek:
Well it may bring back good memories for him & remind him how to play decent footy. Who is in better SANFL form - Marsh or Schell?

It just occured to me with all these player options being thrown up the result won't even be resolved tomorrow, as the Sunday match will mean a squad of 25 is released. That being the case, what do we expect the 5-6 inclusions will be?

Out: Burton, Carey, Stevens (?)
In: Bode, Massie, Crowell, Schell, Marsh, Rutten ???

Its a bit of a toss up. Marsh played one game and was among best players for Westies (Westies had bye in week 1)

Schell has played 2 games and was named in best players in 1st game. Mind you in that game Centrals were awsome kicking 32 goals for a match.

At this stage I think Marsh is ahead of Schell simply because he has had more pre-season under his belt. Schell missed a lot with OP.

I wouldn't mind streching swans defence by playing by rotating biglands and marsh through forward line and giving Clarke majority of rucking duties. When he needs a rest we could throuw Biglands or Marsh in the ruck for a few minutes.

Thoughts??????

Stevo should be named in the squad as he is 50/50, so with Bode coming in & Carey & Burton to miss we need to add another 4 players. With Stevo under doubt probably Marsh & Doughty (need a ruck/midfield emergency) & 2 out of Schell, Massie & Crowell.

How fortunes change!! We all agreed pre-season that our 4 worst players were Marsh, Schell, Perrie and Nelson.

Perrie's a certainty and Marsh and Schell are real chances. We only need Nelson to crack the pick 4!!! :D

God forbid!! :D

Mate you pulled this one out of the hat briliantlly!!!!!!:D :D :D :D :D :D

Perrie has improved and surprised us all. Marsh and Schell are yet to prove us wrong and Nelson has NO chance of proving us wrong:D

****e we would be in trouble then. Perrie has improved out of sight & Massie is no chance. Marsh or Schell are a good chance if Stevo is injured, but is more a case of by default. I would try Hentschel instead.

Surely you mean our other former Carlton player?

Arrrhhh, the red wine is kicking in! Apologies to Massie. Yeah I meant Nelson. Still getting over all those abstaining votes. :o Well that's my excuse anyway! ;)

Schell's other advantage is he has been playing reasonable footy in the back line.

If our structure isn't working we could send Schell into defence and move John****, Smart or Bassett into the forward line for a spark.

I would be surprised if Schell wasn't named in our 22. Wasn't he even an emergency last week?

I think from memory the only decent games Marsh has played has been against the Swans,

But no way should we go up there with 3 ruckman it would tip the balance of the side to top heavy something shocking on a ground like the SCG,

if we lose Burton, Carey & Stevens i would give Rutten a go & bring in Massie along with Bode, if Stevens plays then leave young Ben back at WA,

Yep I think thats what we should do...Biglands doesn't have a fantastic kick but he's pretty good at marking and, like u said, i don't think Sydney has a defender tall enough to match up on him.....

He got creamed in both games. Firstly by Medhurst then by Milne in 4th quarter last week. I think it was the right option. I was thinking he might be dropped this morning during one of the most boring lectures EVER.

OK this is the last time I will do this for the swans game. I promise :D It very similar to my previous attempt with a few minor changes.

_ F: _ 19. Mark Stevens _ 22. Ian Perrie _ 40. Chris Ladhams
HF: _ 10. Matthew Bode _ 32. Mark Ricciuto _ 9. Tyson Edwards
_C: _ 20. Tyson Stenglein _ 26. Mark Bickley _ 21. James Gallagher
HB: _ 15. Jason Torney _ 16. Ken McGregor _ 34. Ben Hart
_ B: _ 7. Nigel Smart _ 8. Nathan Bassett _ 18. Graham John****
1R: _ 4. Matthew Clarke _ 36. Simon Goodwin _ 23. Andrew McLeod

Int: 35. Rhett Biglands _ 37. Trent Hentschel _ 1. Andrew Crowell _ 33. Brent Reilly

If Stevnes doesn't pass the fitness test then promote Schell to the bench and start Hentschel in Stevo's place. Having said that I am 99.9% certain that Hentschel will not start on the ground.

Thoughts??????
