Last time the Swans lost 4 in a row was R7-R10 in 2010. Went from 5-1 to 5-5 but recovered to finish 13-9.

The Papley selection still leaves me dumbfounded. I love the kid but he has had no preseason and zero match fitness. Plenty of guys playing NEAFL who could come in and have an impact. Maybe he was a gun in training but he performed below even my low expectations. I honestly don't even have a point beyond this, I'm just so ******* confused by it all.

Did you see how calm our coaches box was? They are already playing the long game. Year of the kids. Elite mid draft pick. Flag run next year.

I'll admit he's been under where I was expecting him. I get the frustration. Of course we can associate his age & a few poor efforts & "call it" but I like to give our blokes a good crack. I think Kiz has shown a good efforts a game to say there's still sumthing there. He can still side step, he can still get away in the first 5 metres. He's still a good tackler.

I just want the players to be given a chance.

I do too and I'm not necessarily saying I agree with the way we play but just trying to explain why we play that way.
We did get to within a goal in the last quarter.
Personally I wouldn't mind Horse encouraging the players to be a bit more attacking even if it means our defenders are exposed more often, but I think we'll still be a defensively oriented side.

I'm not having a go at him. The selection was the issue. "Alright considering" isn't really alright. A game in the NEAFL would have been the better route.

Bobby Skilton at 70 odd years of age would still kick the ball better on either side and knee replacements aside would probably still outrun him.

If that's the case Horse should be out the door then. Coaches need to evolve. The game is now more attacking oriented we need to play that way. If we lose 120 to 110 so be it. Rather that than lose 90 to 60.

If we have a down year, what I really, really want to see is Horse trying new things. Players in different postions (except Reid...), different structures, getting a few newbies in.

I just want to see Longmire evolve our game style. Will be annoyed if we stick to same plan "just cause".

As an aside, those who are intrigued about draft Hunter Clark and Lochie O'Brien worth looking for.

Yes we did, but we could/should have been so much better if the issues that were obvious the last few years were actually addressed. We have been a bad kicking team in the midfield for years now, we have been bad going inside 50 for years as well. We have also been beaten up in the midfield far too many times in the really important games. All these things were obvious, none of them were addressed.
