paul roos is under afl investigation for apparently instructing his team, via a message through mcveigh in the last 2 minutes against hawthorn, to "not kick a goal"
afl says he's undermining the NAB Cup, not sure what else is being said
story will break tomorrow
roos apparently sent mcveigh on to replace bevan with 2 mins to go in the game, and told him to tell the team "go forward but don;t kick a goal"
he may as well have done it in code, by telling mcveigh "just play your normal game"
Lol, sounds funny.

the investigation is about mcveigh impersonating a AFL player
you're worse than me

it's happening now coz news ltd papers have been pestering the afl about various other aspects of roos' tactics in the game
eg, ROK and davo on the bench at the finish when we were only a coupla points down and definitely in it
to be honest, from what i've seen, roos has been asked to "please explain" and if he can't do that to the tyrants' satisfaction the club might get a $5000 fine or some such crud
i mean, what they gonna do
by the way, we lost by 45 tonight, big fcking deal

I cant bare to watch him play for the Saints. That goal he kicked was trademark Scheids.
wouldn't worry too much
if it was a trademark schneids goal, you can bet there'll be some trademark schneids boiled cabbage misses soon enough
and a trademark flat spot, where he goes missing for half an hour

sorry, i thinkk it was 25 points, not 45, just rechecked the wire score i saw and they got it wrong
they had it tigers 17.11 133 to 13.10 88
but if you do the maths, that makes them 113 not 133
not that it matters one jot

NARRANDERA, NSW, Feb 29 AAP - Richmond had a convincing pre-season win over Sydney tonight but lost promising key position player Jay Schulz to a worrying rib injury and Graham Polak to a foot injury.

Tigers star Matthew Richardson kicked five goals to lead the Tigers to a promising 17.11 (113) to 13.10 (88) victory, but the injuries were a concern for coach Terry Wallace.

Wallace said Schulz was going to be taken to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital because he was struggling to breathe, but the Tigers medical team decided to get him back on a plane to Melbourne tonight.

"Jay Schulz has got a rib injury, we're not exactly sure of the extent of that," Wallace said after the match.

"He'll get x-rays tomorrow.

"If you cop a full-blooded knee to the ribs going at the pace these blokes are going at, I think it was Richo (Richardson), so that's a hundred-odd kilos sort of going through your ribs, a bit of friendly fire."

Wallace said the 22-year-old had pulled up okay soon after the match but would be closely examined tomorrow.

Ruckman Troy Simmonds came off as a precaution with stiffness in his quad and the Tigers suffered a third injury to Polak, who came off with a bruised heel.

Despite the injuries the Tigers won convincingly thanks to Richardson's straight kicking and the pace of Nathan Foley and Richard Tambling through the midfield.

Wallace was happy with both the result and style of play from the Tigers.

"We've got more speed in that area (the midfield) and probably just more guys who can work through the middle of the ground, which is something that we've been trying to work towards for three or four years now and finally we're seeing some of that come to fruition," he said.

Swans coach Paul Roos wasn't worried by the result, admitting he was more concerned about giving some youngsters a run and getting key players like Barry Hall, who kicked four goals, and Michael O'Loughlin match fit.

Ed Barlow, Jared Moore, Heath Grundy, Matt O'Dwyer and Jesse White all came in for praise from Roos, who said he would looking for all of the youngsters to press for game time in the season proper.

"The main thing tonight was about playing against a team that was full strength, sometimes you can play in these games where one team's got a lot of good players and the other team's got not so many and I thought tonight was good," Roos said.

Great to see Hally, Barlow and Bolton in the best list. Seems like Bolton has been shaken ever since he was almost used as trade bait.

No injuries = good for me, stuff the NAB cup and I have your full support Roosy. Tanking the NAB cup isn't BAD as tanking the AFL H&A season.

To be fair, J.Bolton was on the best list many times last season without it being worthy. I would take his listing with a grain of salt :D

I've heard Roosy say that J. Bolton has had a ripping pre season, his best for years, and that he expected him to be in the guts for most of the year. Set for a big one.

The guy is amazing. Not my favourite player by any stretch and was used as a scapegoat at times last season, but you gotta love the way he goes at his footy.

Yeh, shaken up he was and got a pay rise for it. Why would you give a toss about your form if you are getting away with merely running through the banner and putting in appearances, knowing the club just loves you and no matter how poorly you are playing you know you wont be dropped. Bugger the form if you are a great clubman, that's all that counts.

What do you mean scapegoat? He was bloody awful, kept his spot then admits he was unfit all season and didn't work hard enough. In footy terms that's being downright dishonest to the club and supporters.

And we traded Schneider: give me strength.
