Sweet F.A - Season 24 RULES

BIGFOOTY SPECIFIC

1.Basic Conduct and Etiquette - Bigfooty

1A) Race, Ethnicity and Nationality:

Race, Ethnicity, Nationality or any other abuse directed at a player’s ethnic, cultural or religious background will not be tolerated and remains subject to disciplinary measures from BigFooty’s administrators or site owners.

1B) Sexual Orientation:
As per rule 1A, abuse with regards to sexual orientation is also forbidden. Comments about a person’s sexual preference will be strictly prohibited and any such person who breaks this rule will be subject to disciplinary measures from BigFooty’s administrators or site owners.

1C) Abuse:
Using serious abuse (very coarse, threatening or demeaning language) towards a person or persons will not be condoned on this site. Any posting deemed to be threatening or that constitutes serious abuse as per Bigfooty site rules will be subject to disciplinary measures from Bigfooty's administrators or site owners.

1D) Profanity and Smut:

Our community is held to BigFooty Rule 5 (see below). Sweet F.A moderators may hand out warnings and/or day off bans for breaching this rule. If a player is found to be given a day off ban for this specific reason, they will also be required to miss one Sweet F.A match where possible - this is the only day off ban that will render a player ineligible.

BigFooty Rule 5. said:
No sexually suggestive content, swearing, bikini and lingerie images, racist material, gore and injuries etc.
  • We have readers from all walks of life, accessing the site from home and work. Be considerate.
  • We also have advertisers who apply rules about where their ads can be displayed. A bit more info can be found here.

Post that contain videos, images or text that contain profanity, not safe for work material or avoid the swear filter are some of which apply to this rule. If you are unsure, please seek the advice of a Moderator or if you're in doubt, take another route. Innuendo is fine, just do not overdo it.

SFA SPECIFIC

2.Basic Conduct and Etiquette - SFA

2A) Abuse
-
This is a game, attack the persona all you want but don't attack the person behind the persona. This is the most essential rule in the SFA. The line is the same here as anywhere on BigFooty so don't cross it. Posting that breaks site rules listed 1A, 1B or 1C may be considered abuse. If the league administrator considers posting to constitute mild abuse, the poster will receive one warning, followed by a ban for any subsequent offence (based on severity of abuse and the poster's history). Any posting deemed to be serious abuse by the administrator will result in a ban from the first offence (based on severity of abuse and the poster's history).

All posting on the Sweet FA board may be subject to these in-game disciplinary measures by the administrator. Any penalties will be served on top of any Bigfooty site measures/discplinary actions. The line between person and persona should never be breached, and if in doubt the post can be cleared by a moderator.

3. Squad Management/Player Movement

3A) Squad Management:
Captains need to submit final squads by the deadline set by administration. After this deadline, all signings and delistings must be noted in the squad submission thread. Squads lists must also be altered (preferred) or re-posted (if original poster unavailable) to reflect these signings/delistings before they are allowed to play.

Squads also must contain a minimum of 23 players and a maximum of 27 players. It is the captain's duty to ensure that their squad meets this criteria. Captains will serve a suspension (set by the administrator) for games played without a correct squad.

Should a team be under the minimum squad list by squad submission they will be immediately docked four premiership points and will lose four points per each additional round under the squad requirements.

If a player changes their BigFooty username during the season, both the team sheets and squad submission thread must continue to use the same username that the player was originally registered with at the squad submission deadline. The player will continue to be listed in the sim with their original name.

3B) Trades: May only occur during the trade period specified by administration. Trades must be player/s for player/s, and the player/s must have been listed in a squad prior to the trade period. Both clubs and player/s must agree to the trade for it to take place. Trades must then be approved by the admin. It is at this stage that the trade becomes official.

In the event that a disgruntled player is refusing to play for their original club, they must still be traded for a player or players from another team's squad. The disgruntled player can attempt to get to their preferred club in the above way. If the teams cannot come to agreement, the disgruntled player will be announced to the committee, where each club is able to make an offer. If no offer is forthcoming, the administrator has the power to waive the need for an inactive player to agree to a trade for the disgruntled player. This scenario can only occur with permission from the disgruntled player's original club.

3C) Eligibility to sign players - After the team submission deadline, players are linked to their club. Players can only be signed to a club within the season once they have satisfied the criteria of Restricted Free Agency.

Restricted Free Agency

Any players delisted during the season (that were on the original squad) can be signed as a delisted free agent by any other club (including the original club). The player must enter the team sign up thread and the same rules apply as if the delisted free agent were a new or returning player to the Sweet FA. A "delisted free agent" is only identified if they have been delisted by their club, not if they have walked out. Delisted free agency eligibility ends four rounds prior to finals. The admin must approve the signing of any delisted player by his/her new team and reserves the right to defer to the committee for any further discussion should it be required.

During the season, any new players in the sign-up thread will be signed to the club of their choice. The signing will only become official after a 24 hour "bidding process" where the new player will make a final call on which club they want to join. New players will only be found to have nominated once they fill out the application form in the OP of the sign up thread and the 24 hour period is from the time this is posted.

Unrestricted Free Agency

Unrestricted free agency occurs between seasons. Free agents may only be signed with permission. Player movement between clubs is unrestricted with permission (of the player).

Any player movement not specified in the rules is not considered legal. In the event of uncertainty, the club must contact the administrator for consideration with the committee.

4. Team Submission

4A) Submission Rules -
Teams need to be submitted by the time specified in the OP. If no time is specified in the OP, it can be assumed that the deadline for submission is the Thursday 11:59 PM Melbourne Time before a match. Teams must contain 20 eligible players, be submitted by the deadline and state "Official Team Sheet" in the same post. Teams must note positional changes from the previous round, including where the player played last round and where they are playing this round. Failure to submit a team sheet in the correct format (20 eligible players, positional changes, correct spelling of every name within the whole team sheet and "official team sheet" in same post), or AT ALL will result in one of the following punishments based on the appropriate grading:

High Impact (results in an instant four point penalty):
Failure to submit a complete team sheet by the deadline.
Editing the team sheet after team sheet deadline to amend player or positional changes.
Omitting 'Official Team Sheet' from the team sheet.
Failing to submit a squad in the official squad submission thread by deadline.

Medium Impact (one match suspension for captains):
Incorrect positional changes.
Listing an ineligible player.

Low Impact (Official warning - two official warnings will result in a medium impact penalty):
Incorrect spelling of player names.
Incorrect team sheet positional acronyms.

A further clarification, these penalties apply to ALL potential team submission errors.

4B - Sheet Positioning - Team sheets must be displayed with the following positional acronyms (shown as bolded below). No other format will be accepted:

B: Back Pocket (BP) - Full Back (FB) - Back Pocket (BP)
HB: Half Back Flank (HBF) - Centre Half Back (CHB) - Half Back Flank (HBF)
C: Wing (W) - Centre (C) - Wing (W)
HF: Half Forward Flank (HFF) - Centre Half Forward (CHF) - Half Forward Flank (HFF)
F: Forward Pocket (FP) - Full Forward (FF) - Forward Pocket (FP)
R: Ruck (Ruck) - Ruck Rover (RR) - Rover (R)

INT: Interchange (INT) - Interchange (INT)

Please note: The bracketed acronyms, and only these, MUST be used when signifying a players positional change.

4C) Eligibility -
Players are subject to eligibility rules as per rule 3. If a player becomes ineligible after the team sheet submission deadline (rule 4) they will be allowed to play the match they are named in and will be considered ineligible for any subsequent matches after that. Players that receive BigFooty site bans (red cards) should not be named in team sheets where possible. Players who receive 'Day Off' bans will only be considered ineligible for one match should it be a direct result of breaching rule 1D and should not be named in team sheets where possible. All other day off bans will be not render players ineligible.

Should a club claim to have been unaware of a banned player, the Administrator reserves the right to waive a penalty.

An eligible player must have an active BigFooty account by the submission deadline. Closed or permanently banned accounts are not consider to be active and therefore those players must be removed from the submitted squad and the squad minimum criteria must still be met.

4D) Team Validity -
In the event that two or more team sheets are posted, the simmers will use the team sheet submitted before the deadline by the clubs captain or co-captain. Should a club have both co-captains post a team sheet, the latest team sheet will be used. If neither captain or co-captain have submitted a team sheet, the simmers will use the latest team sheet submitted by any player listed by the club.

In the event of no team being posted by the deadline the simmers must use the previous weeks team sheet except for round one matches where the team must provide a new team sheet urgently.

5. Bringing the game into disrepute

If the administrator feels that a poster is bringing the game into disrepute due to their actions ie. whinging about the simmer or rules, manipulation of the rules, excessive trolling or spam etc then the committee and the admin will convene on a suitable punishment. Penalties will range from an official warning to match suspension/s, depending on the severity of the offence as adjudicated by the Administrator and the committee.

6. Appeals

All penalties applied to clubs or players may be appealed to the Administrator. This may be done by constructing a well thought out private message to the Administrator. Each penalty shall be appealed only once and the concurrent decision handed down by the Administrator will be final. The Administrator reserves the right to convene to the committee should any further discussion be required.

7. Alias

A player may only have one account as a listed player in the Sweet FA. No aliases allowed. Any attempt to use more than one account will result in a minimum suspension of 8 games being applied.

8. Finals Team Submission
During the Sweet F.A Finals Series, teams are subject to Team Submission rules as per rule 4. Failure to submit a correct team (20 eligible players, correct positional changes, correct spelling of every name within the whole team sheet and "official team sheet" in the same post) by the match deadline in finals will result in a 2 goal penalty applied to the offending team as well as a one week match suspension for the clubs captain or co-captains.

9. Administrator Decisions

The Administrator reserves the right to add to the rules as the season progresses. If a team/player breaks a "future" rule (rule not outlined above) then the admin will consult with the committee and determine an outcome (which may still include penalties). If any player or captain is unaware of the specifics of any rule or believes there is a situation not covered by the rules, it is their responsibility to seek approval from the administrator or find themselves subject to rule 9.

10. Administrator Conduct

If a player feels the administrator is blatantly abusing their power then they may contact all SFA captains stating their case. If the majority of captains believe the administrator is abusing their power (51%+) they can ask the administrator to stand down. If the captains are unanimous (100%) in the belief that the administrator is abusing their power they can forcibly remove the administrator of the competition.

11. New Clubs

Anybody wishing to enter a new side into the Sweet F.A. must apply to be admitted into the Sweet F.A. The new clubs must have:
- A nominated captain
- Unique club colours and mascot
- A nominated home ground
- A basic logo/emblem and jumper design
- A minimum of 15 players at the time of application
- A minimum of 23 players by the deadline in the list submission thread.

Any club not meeting the following criteria will not be admitted. No club will be admitted once a season has commenced. New teams must make a formal submission to the Administrator at least one month prior to the league commencing for a new season. Applications can be made during a season but the new club will not be admitted until the following season. The SFA administrator will have the final say on all applications.

12. Match Validity

All matches simulated and posted by the league's simmer/s (or otherwise specified by the Administrator) will be deemed final. Where a sim does not use the correct 20 players (as named in the valid team sheet) for one or both teams, the captain or co-captain of either team in that match may, at their discretion, request for there to be a re-sim. This must be requested via a Private Message to the league Administrator within 24 hours of the match being posted. Positional errors in a sim or the wrong home/away team are valid grounds for a team to request a re-sim.

13. Practice Matches
Practice matches are encouraged during the off season but must be confined to the pre-season or season team thread for one of the teams involved. By request, and at the discretion of the admin, a match thread may be created if the match is deemed to have historical significance, is for charity or may be used as advertisement for the Sweet FA. Any threads started without the admins permission will be deleted on sight.
