Really only posting this thread now to generate a discussion about the pretty slim pickings for Syd Barker this year.

The number of players who have played every game isn't high, and of those there aren't a lot of world-beating elite performances either (i.e Caleb Daniel

A few weeks ago, Michael Barlow made an off-hand comment that Toby Pink would be "around top 5" for the Syd Barker this year, and it was dismissed by quite a few on here... but when you look at the field it's a genuine chance!

I think we all expect Xerri to win it, but the suspension makes it a little interesting.

Thoughts?

Even though LDU has had a poor year, he'll still be up there.

Fwiw, its Xerri's to lose but the lack of an outstanding candidate just goes to show its been a relatively poor year for most of the team.

Curtis, FOS, Kerch, X and Pink have all been around the same mark or better, which is not many considering the club thought we were going get to rise.

I'm assuming at least a few are carrying injuries throughout the season which has kept them from playing to their capabilities, but we'll have to wait on confirmation of that.

I just hope I'm more excited about the Syd next season.

You'd love a top 5-7 where it was tough to call, as you know you've had great seasons from 1/3 of the team.

One can only dream when you're down so low for so long.

Unless the voting has changed the fact that the whole team can get a vote especially in a win or loss will make it interesting. Xerri definitely had it in the bag till suspended and no one has shone since he has been out so if he blitzes in the last 3 he is a shoe in.
If Daniel Konstanty or Stephens get near the Top 3 then its a joke

FOS has to be best first year player and I wouldnt be surprised if Toby wins the Best Clubman
