SYDNEY Airport's international terminal is in the process of being evacuated, police told NEWS.com.au moments ago.

ABC radio reported up to 400 people had been evacuated from the terminal following an unspecified threat.
An airport spokesman said the threat was considered serious enough to evacuate the terminal.

The Australian Federal Police are investigating.

Some international flights are delayed and trains on the airport line are not stopping at the terminal.

INTERNATIONAL flights to and from Sydney have been disrupted after security agencies ordered the evacuation of the international terminal at Sydney Airport.

Sydney Airport and the Australian Federal Police (AFP)said the evacuation was due to a bomb threat.

A Sydney Airport spokesman said security agencies responsible for safeguarding the facility, including the Australian Federal Police, NSW Police and airport security personnel, ordered the evacuation shortly before 4.30pm (AEST).

"The international terminal has been evacuated," he said.

"There's about 300-400 people in the carpark."

The spokesman said passengers on several outgoing flights that had not yet departed were evacuated from their planes.

As a result, there were likely delays as there would be a "knock on effect on international departures".

"Fortunately it's a quiet time of the afternoon," the spokesman said.

Just heard it on Sky News, hopefully it's just a case of some nutcase making a bomb hoax and nothing more sinister ...



(I doubt it's anything too sinister, they more often than not don't make threats beforehand).
