i'm a Melburnian but I lay no blame with the Sydney public. Any moron except one working for Cricket Australia knew when the fixture came out that there shouldn't have been two tests scheduled for Sydney.

a) it's against zimbabwe
b) it's against a very weakened zimbabwe
c) it's the last test of the series
d) it's october
e) sydney have a real test (traditional timing) in 10 weeks (albeit the last test of that series too)
f) yes, the rugby world cup is on
g) always too expensive at the SCG
etc etc

So I lay all blame for crowds with Cricket Australia. And I lay much blame with the state of Zimbabwean cricket at the feet of a pig known as Robert Mugabe, but that's another issue.

This Indian ODI tournament has come about because Australia wanted the Test series in India next year to be four matches rather than three. The Indians would only agree to that if Australia agreed to take part in this ODI tour. Australia playing ODI's guarantees the Indian Cricket Board sellout crowds and big $.

one day cricket is a joke anyway, and its scheduling is doing it no favours. no wonder all of our players are pulling out with this injury or that injury, only to be right for the india test series.
