Former Sydney Olympics Minister Michael Knight says Australia has all the right credentials to host a spectacular FIFA World Cup in 2022.

Knight, who is back in the spotlight for the 10th anniversary celebrations of the 2000 Olympics, claims the Games and subsequent international events have proved Australia's capabilities.

"Having seen what Australia did with the Olympics, the Paralympics and the World Cup Rugby, no international sporting federation would have any doubts Australia could host an outstanding event."

Puddy in slang = reference to female genitalia. I think that says more than enough. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=puddy

Go Australia for the 2022 Football World Cup!!! :thumbsu:

BTW just in case your wondering "Puddy", it already has the support of everyone in Australian federal and state politics, so frankly I don't think anyone gives a toss what you say, go back to your dero cave and don't raise your head out because frankly it's just going to be embarrassing for everyone concerned.

We can have a soccer world cup if Lowy wants to pay for it
For something that supposedly makes billions of dollars (so the proponents tell us), the fact that there is zero private sector investment in the whole exercise is certainly one of life's great mysteries.

My understanding of basic economic theory is that where there are supra-normal profits to be made, private investors will fight each other to get a slice of the action.

It truly is a mystery.

Nobody said the world cup would bring "supra-normal profits".

And BSE why are you not posting about the fact the victoria government is about to spend $30m on cricket so the afl can play games at the mcg in October?

Clearly the Football World Cup is supported by the owner of Westfields (retail), Optus (telecommunications), Qantas (Air travel/tourism), Cisco(data communications) and there were multiple business leaders as well who met up with the FIFA delegates at the same table as Julia Gillard and Tony Abbott. Business leaders know very well the economic benefits of hosting a football world cup here, it is the biggest show piece event on the planet. It's about time you woke to it because frankly you're an embarrassment to the entire nation. Then again the team that you support has about the same level of class, backstabbing unaustralian scum.
